What happens when the supply of renewable energy is out of quack with demand? The dreaded duck curve. Peaks show when clean energy can’t meet demand. The low curve shows when we have more wind and solar than we’re able to use.  When supply and demand are at odds, it’s like the grid gets whiplash. Outages can happen. We need additional energy sources that can turn off at sunrise and turn on at sunset. And fast. Distributed energy resources or DERs to the rescue. Home batteries (a type of DER) can store renewable energy during the day, when abundant, then quickly deploy it when demand spikes. We’ll quack to that. 🦆 #supplyanddemand #batterystorage #duckcurve #climateaction https://lnkd.in/gut8gxTk
