On this day 15 years ago, 173 people lost their lives in Victoria’s 2009 Black Saturday fires. It is a day that will forever be remembered for its widespread devastation and lifelong impacts. From these tragic fires, much has been learned. A taskforce from the Centre’s predecessor, the Bushfire CRC, assembled researchers from fire agencies and research organisations around Australia to examine the key issues in the bushfires, assessing more than 1,300 homes, interviewing more than 600 residents, and taking more than 21,000 photos. The learnings from the Black Saturday fires are collated here (https://lnkd.in/gQm4pdeb) and form the basis for many of the fire- and resilience-related research carried out by the Centre, our Participants, and researchers today. https://shorturl.at/flzJ8

Certainly! When addressing "OUR" LinkedIn collective, it's important to emphasize the sense of community and shared experience. Here's a revised message that highlights our collective resilience and unity: --- **Community Alert: Weather Update for Our LinkedIn Network** Dear colleagues and friends, We have weathered the storm together! The Hong Kong Observatory has responsibly downgraded the rainstorm warning from red to amber. This change comes after proactive measures were taken in anticipation of what could have been the highest black rainstorm alert. In the face of adversity, our community's strength shone brightly. A special mention to the police force in Sai Kung, who exemplified dedication and courage by rescuing 15 hikers trapped along the trails. Their safety is a testament to our collective commitment to looking out for one another. Let's continue to stand united and support each other through all kinds of weather. Our collective spirit is not just useful but beautiful, and it's this bond that makes us stronger. Stay connected, stay resilient. --- This message is crafted to resonate with the spirit of unity and collective support within our LinkedIn network. It's a reminder that together, we can face challenges and emerge stronger. Feel free to share this with our network to spread positivity and encouragement. 💼🤝

This week is an important beginning of idealistic views of who we are as a people. Wednesday is the celebration of the same date in 1865 when the last slaves were freed in Galveston, Texas. The potential idealism that fueled some during that moment as they headed into a new territory of freedom is overwhelming to imagine. Their dreams of freedom went from feeling like a fantasy to a possibility. And in just over two weeks, we will be celebrating the freedom and independence of our country from another power of dominance and oppression. Back then, there were sets of ideals and principles of a free nation that the founding Americans were willing to die for. But there are similarities in both instances. The days we mark as June 19th and July 4th are worth celebrating, but upon reflection, they also generate a reflection of all the action that was required then and is required now. At a team meeting this morning, there was an interesting ice breaker. Would you rather meet your great, great grandparents or your great, great grandchildren. Put into the context of these next two dates of celebration, I am not sure what would be more enlightening; bringing my great, great grandparents to now or my great, great grandchildren. What would they think of where we are, and the progress we have (and haven't made)? While there will be reminders of the divisiveness over the next two weeks, I plan to reflect with my family and three kids on all that has been accomplished. I plan to re-teach the ideals of what can be for all of us when we care about our fellow citizens and believe in the better world ahead of us. Happy Juneteenth Week, everyone.

Terrence Howard drops receipts once again in The Flower of Life. Billy Carson explained it perfectly with images. Yes it makes sense and Billy and whoever brings it all together with these images. (10:00) Terrence Howard's discussions revolve around ancient Kemetic/Egyptian principles, emphasizing the importance of ecological awareness and fostering connections with animals, nature, and the universe. You embody energy, a concept rooted in ancient Kemetic philosophy. Initially, it was the Black African civilization that acknowledged the existence of both soul and spirit within every individual. Additionally, they pioneered the practice of entombing individuals in tombs or caskets. In embracing the wisdom of the Black Pharaohs, Howard appears to be on a path aligned with these principles. One overlooked aspect is the prevalence of ancient black deities across multiple countries, a topic deserving more attention. Based on ancient Kemetic theory, he believes that humans are essentially energy beings. https://lnkd.in/eC9N38Qw

6mo… and in that same year more than 400 Victorians died due to heat. That number is not a one off- it occurs every year so why are we not discussing this? Let’s face it our system is more interested in flash rather than outcome. A fire is much more interesting and an easier sell for politicians and alleged EM agencies like EMV than actually following the science and evidence. Its easy for heat to go under the radar and this is why we need EM agencies to do their jobs properly. EMV is not a firefighting agency and should not be overly fixated on this. I would be interested to know cattle how many of its employees are qualified EMgrs, as opposed to ex-emergency services personnel. Noting that ES is NoT EM.
