As a notified body for the European Marine Equipment Directive (MED), we certify products that meet the highest standards of maritime safety and environmental protection. “Ensuring the safety and efficiency of marine equipment on vessels is not just about meeting regulations; it's about prioritizing safety and sustainability at sea. We provide expertise and scientific validation.“, says Susanne Blomqvist, project leader at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. The MED, a legislative framework established by the European Union, assures the quality and safety of marine equipment on board ships. It not only harmonizes the market but also provides a single certification process recognized across EU member states. This facilitates the free movement of goods within the internal market and ensures a high level of safety at sea. Are you in the marine industry and aiming for certification? Contact 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞.𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐪𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐭@𝐫𝐢.𝐬𝐞 to ensure scientific compliance with the Marine Directive! Read more: https://lnkd.in/gVK_A9_M #firesafety #MED #theEuropeanMarineDirective

Where do contaminants go after a near-surface environmental spill? The release of non-aqueous phase liquids (LNAPL) results in associated risks that strongly depend on how these contaminants move and transform in the subsurface. Important aspects that affect these risks are: For how long do contaminants move? Where do they go? Which tools are available to characterize their transport? What drives contaminant movement? Gravity, hydraulic gradients, or surface tension-type forces? Different processes play changing roles at different stages of the release. It is important to understand these processes before a risk assessment can be completed and subsequent important risk mitigating decisions can be made. If you would like to gain insight into these processes, as well as the current and novel tools to characterize these processes, join us next Tuesday, June 4th at the 2024 Battelle Chlorinated Conference in Denver, Colorado, where we will be conducting a learning lab in this subject, titled: NAPL Like You Have Never Seen It: An On-Demand, Non-Destructive UV-Based HRSC Tool You are also welcome to check our other events, including a platform talk, a poster, or visit us at Booth 124.
