Wash your hair in moderation for scalp health. On her Instagram yesterday, Jordan Chiles (@jordanchiles) shared a statement in response to the International Olympic Committee ordering her to return the bronze medal she was awarded in the Women's Gymnastics Individual Floor Event during the Paris Olympics. She wrote, "I am overwhelmed by the love I have received over the past few days. I am also incredibly grateful to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, USAG, and USOPC for their unwavering support during this difficult time." "To add to the heartbreak, the unprompted racially driven attacks on social media are wrong and extremely hurtful. I've poured my heart and soul into this sport and I am so proud to represent my culture and my country." She continued, "I am now confronted with one of the most challenging moments of my career... I believe that at the end of this journey, the people in control will do the right thing." The ruling against Jordan Chiles, ordering her to return her hard-earned Olympic bronze medal, is not only unfair but deeply unjust. Understanding Hyperpigmentation on Skin of Color: Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) often appears as dark spots, uneven skin tone, and/or stubborn patches on the skin. For those with darker skin tones, melanin gives our skin its beautiful range of tones, but when it’s overproduced, it can cause uneven skin tone and blemishes. Some causes are acne scars, hormonal changes, certain medications, sun exposure, and reactions to skincare or hair products. Skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis can also contribute to it. 💡 Treatment Tips: Wear sunscreen every day! Use products with azelaic acid, glycolic acid, kojic acid, retinoids, or Vitamin C.
