Want to know the secret to providing exceptional patient care? 🔒💡 It all starts with building strong, meaningful bonds with your patients! As a future NP, you have to foster trust if you want to provide good, compassionate care. But why is it so important? Building trust and strong bonds with your patients is crucial because it: 💬 Encourages open communication, allowing patients to share their concerns and fears more freely. 👥 Improves patient compliance and adherence to treatment plans, leading to better health outcomes. 🙏 Increases patient satisfaction and loyalty, as they feel valued and cared for by their healthcare provider. 🧘♀️ Reduces patient anxiety and stress, creating a more positive healthcare experience. The next question is: how can you cultivate these powerful connections? Here are our top tips: 👂 Active Listening: Give your patients your undivided attention and listen to their concerns with empathy. 💬 Clear Communication: Explain diagnoses, treatments, and procedures in plain language, ensuring your patients understand and feel heard. ❓ Open-Ended Questions: Use open-ended questions to encourage patients to share their thoughts and feelings. This can help identify their concerns and preferences. 🤲 Collaborative Decision-Making: Involve your patients in their treatment plans, empowering them to take an active role in their healthcare journey. Implementing these strategies will enhance the quality of care you provide and build trust and credibility with your patients. Ready to put these tips into practice and become the compassionate, skilled NP patients so desperately need? Healthcare systems work towards a model that prioritizes the emphasis on outcomes and quality in hospitals and facilities. However, in order to enhance these aspects over time, healthcare facilities must strategically target appropriate concentrations and effectively utilize suitable technology. A digital rounding platform offers hospitals the tools to discover and address pain points within their facility and craft action plans to improve gaps in service. Sentact recently published a Benefits Summary that details the features a rounding platform provides and how it can positively impact each outcome for each CMS grading department. To access and read our latest Benefit Summary, follow the link below to be automatically redirected to our CMS Improvement Benefit Summary. #CMS #healthcare #hospital #patient #patientoutcomes #patientexperience #qualityofcare #mortality #readmission #timelycare #patientsafety #healthtech #healthcareIT #doctor #nurse #rounds #rounding

Healthcare is filled with more smart people than any other industry (citation pending but we all know it is true). But we often don't listen to them. Today a paper that we have worked on for many years published in Jama Network (https://lnkd.in/gcAkuS38) We show that there is an important correlation between physician feedback with the EHR and actual safety with the EHR. In short, if physicians at a hospital are concerned about their EHR, leaders need to listen because it is likely there is a patient safety element to the concerns. The work we are doing at CareLuminate is similar in nature, but possibly more groundbreaking. Here is a plot of the CareLuminate RN Quality Score, meaning the percent of quality perception questions that nurses answer with a positive 'agree' response, compared to the current CMS Hospital Stars Rating. Notice how strong that correlation is (N=24, n = 486, prob p> 0 <.001). Even more amazing given that CMS Stars are a lagging indicator by 1-4 years and these interviews were done in the last 3 months. I spoke to a nurse the other day at a hospital where the policy if a patient falls is to have the nurse go speak to the CNO about why the fall happened. Why a fall vs. some other quality concern? We all know it is because that is a SPECIFIC quality measure. Instead of focusing just on specific quality measures, let's focus the overall quality of our hospitals and healthcare in general. If we don't know quality--ask your care givers. They will know. If you want to know how to improve quality, ask your caregivers, they will know. As we listen to the smart people in healthcare, the quality of care will improve. A gratitude-filled callout to my JAMA coauthors Christopher Longhurst, David Classen, Julia Adler-Milstein and David Bates, as well as my partner Linda Komisak Also grateful to Marty Makary M.D., M.P.H. whose book inspired the start of CareLuminate. #klasresearch #archcollaborative #carequalitymeasures #listentoRNs #healthcareimprovement #ucsandiego #leapfrog #universityofutah

This was an awesome idea. How many times a day do you ask yourself "Why do we have to do this?" This is a great idea to start having staff identify barriers to #efficient, #effective, and #safe #patient care. #nursing #hospital #nursinginnovation #nursingleadership #healthcareinnovation #lean

There are many people that are involved in your overall healthcare. There are doctors, nurses, technicians, and specialists. But no one is as important as the patient. Yesterday marked World Patient Safety Day, in which the World Health Organization reminds all to advocate for themselves. World Patient Safety Day 2023 is dedicated to the theme “Engaging patients for patient safety” and the slogan “Elevate the voice of patients!” which takes collaboration and effort from patients, healthcare providers, caregivers, and more. If you believe #STEEEP is a great framework for #HealthcareQuality, wait until you hear about STEEEPLE. Working in healthcare as a registered nurse since 2010 and being exposed to patient safety and quality as a new grad nurse gave me a unique insight into healthcare quality and what is missing. After years of working at the bedside and within quality and patient safety roles I have identified a main ingredient is missing - a learning environment. By spelling out the fact that healthcare quality is situated on a foundation of learning and continuous improvement, we keep in sight the humility and empathy necessary for true improvement by diverting our attention from "this was an unsafe act - why did you do this..." to "help us understand how this happened so we can prevent it in the future." #patientsafety #healthcarequality #cpps #cphq #fache #nurse More information about STEEEP - https://lnkd.in/dNqGEvck Get 25% off Orientation to Patient Safety (approved for 4 hours CPPS CE) with code BETA - https://lnkd.in/eeYMM2kw
