What types of outdoor activities fall under the category of recreation? The options are plentiful! Engaging in activities such as running, hiking, camping, rock climbing, boating, fishing, rafting, hunting, and wildlife watching can provide a diverse range of choices. Exposure to fresh air has the potential to influence serotonin production, a neurotransmitter crucial for regulating memory, mood, and social behavior. The optimal serotonin levels contribute to emotional regulation, making outdoor exercise not only mentally beneficial but also physically advantageous. Venturing outside allows for a change of scenery each time, and consistent access to green spaces has been associated with reduced risks of depression, enhanced concentration, and improved attention. Embarking on an outdoor adventure doesn't necessitate becoming a seasoned mountain climber overnight. It's perfectly acceptable to start with small steps and gradually progress. Even a daily stroll around the block can have a significant impact. .... why did you look?? It will be over 110 degrees F (43°C) at Phantom Ranch through this weekend! Hiking in extreme heat can lead to serious health risks, including heat exhaustion, heat cramps, heat stroke, and hyponatremia. Hiking in the canyon is not advised. If hiking into the canyon is still in your plans, you should plan your hike before 10 a.m. and after 4 p.m., resting under shade to avoid the worst heat of the day. Down is optional, & Up is Mandatory. Learn more here for summer hiking tips: https://bit.ly/2YWh6C6 #AZWX #GrandCanyon #HeatSafety

Stepping outside the confines of our homes and immersing ourselves in the outside world is where true personal growth begins. It is in this realm where we encounter genuine challenges that shape us into better individuals, with a deeper understanding of our strengths and limitations. By staying within our comfort zones, we restrict ourselves to what we already know, and what feels safe, thereby denying ourselves the opportunity to learn and experience new things. However, by venturing out, we open our minds to new possibilities, and there is no need to fear the unknown. Hiking is a special experience for us… It reminds me of how important it is to teach children about nature. In the outdoors, they learn about our planet's beauty and its importance. As a parent, I hope these experiences become some of the most important events in their lives, connecting them to nature and inspiring them to care for our planet. Each hike we go on, I encourage them to find something that stands out to them. Whether it be an interesting leaf, deer dropping, or bugs. This really helps us stop and pay attention to our surroundings and not just muscle out another hike. Challenge: Plan an outdoor adventure with your kids, whether it's a hike, a trip to the park, or even a backyard nature scavenger hunt. Happy Monday! #dailymotivation #mondaymindset #parentinglife #marketing #socialmedia #thegreatoutdoors

It's #PlayCleanGoWeek! Everyone has a role in protecting our biodiversity by stopping the spread of invasive species while exploring Canada’s great outdoors! How to #PlayCleanGo: 👢REMOVE plants, insects, and mud from your boots, gear, and pets. 🚲CHECK your tires on bikes and ATVs and remove any plant parts before moving to a new area. 🚿CLEAN your gear before entering and leaving a recreation site. 🚶♀️STAY on designated roads and trails. 🔎LEARN to identify common invasive species and report them. Practice these steps wherever you go – hiking, biking, using an all-terrain vehicle, camping, walking your dog, horseback riding, field work, etc. https://lnkd.in/g7pQuwtD
