"When you recognize your light, you are better prepared to share it." These words resonate deeply, reminding us of the importance of acknowledging our own strengths and potential. As women, it's crucial to realize the unique brilliance we each possess and to embrace it fully. Michelle's wisdom reminds us that breaking barriers and tearing down walls requires a profound self-awareness. We must understand our limits, value our time, nurture our health, and maintain spiritual balance. It's from this place of inner strength that we can truly rise and take action. So today, I extend an invitation to all women to step into leadership roles within their businesses and personal lives. Today I have decided to openly celebrate the women that inspire me greatly professionally Rita Esuru Okoroafor, Ph.D. Mededode Omoze Mervin Azeta Isioma Asiodu-Otughwor Tina Unachukwu Eelah Muzan Freda Roli Amuah E.I.T One of the most common misconception is that women in the Energy industry are not nice to young females in the industry but because of these women I can say that it’s not true. They are all unique in their own way but one thing they all have in common is kindness and empathy. As women we have been told that if we want to be leaders we have to firm, strong willed, tenacious and resilient. While all of this is very true it is also important that we know that we can be all of this and still be empathetic. Empathy doesn’t make us weak rather it makes us better managers and this is something I have learnt from these women. So as we celebrate another IWD let’s embrace who we are as women in its totality. Our strengths, our weaknesses, our highs and lows they are what makes us who we are and while we are all still a work in progress let’s not forget to celebrate ourselves. For the efforts that we put into making an input in the world For our contributions to society For our individual uniqueness For who we are to our families For who we are to our friends and For who we are to ourselves To strong women May we know them May we be them May we raise them Happy International Women’s Day to all the women out there #iwd2024 #inspireinclusion

"Well-behaved women seldom make history." With March marking Women's History Month, Mother's Day and International Women's Day - I've been thinking about this quote. Do you agree? Perhaps we should dissect this a bit, shall we? When we say "good women," we often refer to those who conform to societal expectations, follow the rules, and play it safe. But history tells us that the trailblazers, the disruptors, the rebels—those who dare to challenge the norms—are the ones whose stories echo through time. So, what does this mean in the 21st century? Today is International Women’s Day, and I’ve been in deep reflection about how I want to celebrate. The women in my life who I get to interact with daily both personally and professionally are women who inspire me on so many levels. From the friends I’m in community with who support me in showing up fully as myself, to the impact-driven peers and colleagues around the globe who lead by example, I am incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by women who want the world to work better for everyone and take action to make that happen. In truth, trying to make positive change often hurts. It requires the continuous willingness to have your heart broken by injustice and show up like it’s not. Some days I can step forward confidently; some days I stumble. But I never feel alone, because I know that other women are pushing in the same way. Learning systems thinking and being able to apply a systems mindset to complex problem-solving has changed my life for the better (thank you to The UnSchool of Disruptive Design) so I want to celebrate today with sharing this quote from one of the women who paved the way in systems thinking, Donella Meadows: “No one can define or measure justice, democracy, security, freedom, truth, or love. No one can define or measure any value. But if no one speaks up for them, if systems aren't designed to produce them, if we don't speak about them and point toward their presence or absence, they will cease to exist.” — Meadows.
