I'm still learning new things at Siemens Energy every day. It's really fascinating what the company has to offer and how our products have a positive impact on people's everyday lives all over the world: To see how we e.g. drive the energy transformation in Australia, have a look below.๐ And I am equally impressed about our people-centric culture. ๐ Angelo Iacono is one of our 290 Australia-based employees, who has been working with us for 42 years. And what is his summary? "The company has been good to me". Can there be any better feedback after such a long time? I think that's what makes a real #EmployerOfChoice. The work I am doing and the company itself. I have been with the company for 42 years, working in many areas and on different projects. The job is challenging yet interesting and fulfilling, that itself brings me high energy. I feel an immense sense of pride and loyalty to Siemens Energy. The company has been good to me. I was given an opportunity to live in Germany for 7 years, building my career and experiencing a new culture. It really showed me that the company cares about our personal growth and development. I started as a Design Engineer for dredgers, stackers, and reclaimers (mining equipment) in Melbourne. When I started, it was the world of large sheets, big drawing boards, transparent paper, and genuine carbon paper.ย Times were extremely different back then. In those days, we used Haus Post (internal mail service) to send a letter to Germany. It took approximately one week to reach Germany and another week to get the response. Imagine for a moment, all the communications happened in a large typing room. We typed all the letters to customers and transcribed the letters via telex machine and sent it by post to Germany. My job itself. It is full of challenges, but also interesting and satisfying. I like being able to engage and be part of projects and the energy transition journey. My favorite and most recent business area has been Grid Solutions for the last 15 years. I genuinely enjoy the work because it involves a lot of big and challenging projects. This totally sparks my passion and excitement for the work.
In #Australia, we are one of the smaller employers: 290 people work for #TeamPurple Down Under. However, their influence on the energy landscape should not be underestimated. Step by step we are doing everything we can to drive forward the energy transition: โ We are one of the industry partners of the Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG)-run Hydrogen Park South Australia. With our innovative solution, a facility is able to produce an estimated of 20 kilograms of clean hydrogen per hour, amounting to 175 tonnes of green hydrogen for Australia each year. โ Grids often lack the inertia of heavy power turbines that can instantly bridge sudden frequency drops. So, to avert the risk of blackouts, Australian grid operator ElectraNet Pty Ltd is turning to high-tech flywheels to increase inertia and maintain grid stability. I think this is brilliant ๐ my no1 goal is to help as many residential householder save money via Solar PV & Battery Storage. Letโs hope by the 2 pairing up can make a huge difference. Lets remember though. Most house holds that buy solar are working. Itโs all great having tariffs that COULD help save money. We need tariffs that WILL save money. I mean provide cheaper energy prices when the working class has finished work. Last thing people need is to be coming home cooking etc at higher rates.

Head of Procurement, Energy | Energy Transition | Entrepreneur | Angel investor and advisor in #Enertech | IESE MBA
Funding size (8.3 bn GBP) is important! Executives in the #clean #energy industry favor the #Labour Partyโs plans under new leader Mr. #Starmer, who aims to expand #lowcarbon #energy. His pledges include quadrupling #offshore #wind capacity and eliminating #emissions from #power generation by #2030. He plans to streamline the planning process for land-based wind farms and increase the governmentโs role in #renewable energy. Wind is already the largest source of power generation in #Britain, accounting for about 30% of supplies over the last year, slightly more than natural #gas. And Mr. Starmer wants the government to have a bigger role in renewable energy. A new government company, Great British Energy (headquartered in #Scotland), will invest in renewable projects to stimulate growth. The 8.3 billion pounds that Mr. Starmer intends to put into the new company over five years is relatively small, but its impact could be multiplied through partnerships and loans. https://lnkd.in/d_QA3YS4
