Sharing for my network For those of you with many year’s sales experience the phrase “have I got an opportunity for you” is usually followed by a cold sweat while you wait to hear what someone else wants you to do usually because they don’t want to and can’t find someone else. Read on - I promise this is not one of these occasions and is a real opportunity. Let me introduce Elaina Mason to you! Elaina Mason Elaina was due to start a graduate training programme in September, with a major FMCG supplier, however they have had to unfortunately cancel the 2024 intake. Elaina is now looking for a replacement role so I’m sharing for my connections. Elaina has just finished a BSc in International Business at Loughborough University and hopes/expects to get a first. During her time at Loughborough she won the International Business in 1st year and also had a semester at ZHAW School of Management and Law in Switzerland. She also did a year working as an eCommerce Content Editor, where she can provide some excellent testimonials. We had the pleasure of Elaina working with us at TNG on work experience and she really impressed me with her thinking & drive. Anyone who has worked with me knows how hard it is to impress me so this fact alone should make you at least want to meet her! Elaina is ideally looking for roles within marketing, either in insights, or brand management but would be open to other similar opportunities. If you don’t have any opportunities then please share & if you do please get in touch with her!

I seem to be experiencing event anxiety as I plan my first fundraiser event in my career. Invitations are hitting mailboxes, and I keep staring at our ticketing platform to see that first sale hit. I know I'm early to the game and have no need to be worried yet, but my brain keeps saying "you're spending all this money, and nobody is going to come to this event." Such a scary thought! As much as I keep telling myself this statement isn't true, it's hard to shake free of the feeling. Event planners: how do you deal with this feeling and does it ever go away??

Non-Profits need our help! St. Vincent de Paul Place and Madonna Place are looking for volunteers. Did you know: Nonprofits are struggling with volunteer recruitment as pandemic-related government aid programs end and inflation increases, according to the Chronicle of Philanthropy. Formal volunteer participation decreased 7% between 2019 and 2021, according to a recent US Census Bureau and AmeriCorps survey. That’s the largest decrease the survey has recorded since a version of it started in 2002. The largest decrease between 2019 and 2021 in any state was Colorado at 16.1%. Hawaii. Wisconsin, and Ohio also saw double-digit decreases. Utah saw an 8.8% decrease but still has the highest rate of volunteering in the country. The 17th Habit of Successful Employees .. The Pitch In! At most companies, there’ll be opportunities to join committees or take on responsibilities that aren’t necessarily part of your job description: Your company is overhauling its social media procedures and needs a representative from every department to sit on the project team, say, or your office is putting on a major fundraiser and needs someone to coordinate with the event planning company. The most successful people pitch in—so they’re always right there where the action is. #getinvolved #actionreward #elevateyourcareer #elevateBermuda
