A central reason we host our annual summit is to help build relationships across our national company. After spending the days in engaging sessions to improve our offices, it was a fun change of pace to get dressed up for our Awards Gala! It was an evening of glamour and glitz with a red carpet entrance, fine dining, wonderful music and of course the awards ceremony. We enjoyed spending time together and honoring the individuals and teams who are exceeding expectations and setting the bar for the entire Hero family. Each day of our Mission Possible Summit was filled with breakout sessions for clinical and operational teams. The home of our Ortho Team Of The Year is Kids Dental Place in Van Nuys. Teresa Hayrapetian, our West Coast Regional Director of Operations, accepted the award at our annual summit from our CEO, Kevin Lawton. The Van Nuys Ortho Team is a shining example of teamwork and dedication. The partnership between the dental team and the ortho team is outstanding. Join us in celebrating Dr. Narine Petrosian, our Dental Provider of the Year! Dr. Petrosian has worked as a pediatric trained dentist for 16 years and has been with Hero for about 2.5 years. She is a highly skilled, enthusiastic and caring doctor. Her individual attention to all her patients is exceptional. She is also one of the best team players and leaders that any dental team could dream of! Dental and vision teams from our two Wichita offices recently volunteered at the Special Olympics Kansas Summer Games! We provided screenings to 155 athletes and others with intellectual disabilities. In addition to oral health care info and tips on brushing and flossing techniques, the athletes received prescription eyewear and sports goggles courtesy of the corporate sponsors of the Special Olympics / Lions Clubs International Opening Eyes program. This event was an opportunity for our teams to come together in support of a great cause. Seeing the sportsmanship and kindness of the athletes, their families and the volunteers was truly inspiring. Accepting the award for Vision Team of the Year were Dr. Daniel Dieterichs and Operations Manager, Paola Franco. Our Albuquerque office's vision team received this special recognition at our recent company Summit. This vision team works together to perform at full capacity which allows us to see the maximum number of patients that need vision care. Dr. Diederichs, Paola, and Vision Assistant Manager, Johanna Maldonado, are strong leaders who support the team and keep the kids in their community top of mind. Dr. Diederichs trusts the team wholeheartedly and the team listens closely when the doctor has feedback. They have cultivated a virtuous cycle that other offices in our organization can use as a model for efficiency and success. Our friends at The Association of Dental Support Organizations (ADSO), sent out this update and we wanted to share it with our network as well. The Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact will increase access to care by allowing licensed dentists and hygienists to practice in the other participating states. Our very own Rebecca Misner, DMD provided testimony throughout multiple committee hearings on the importance of the compact to address workforce shortage issues and increase access to care. Due in large part to the ADSO’s efforts, the interstate compact has successfully passed the Colorado legislature. The bill now awaits enactment after the Governor signs the bill into law. In Minnesota, the legislative session is entering its final days with the interstate compact passed fully through the Senate. The bill now awaits an important conference committee convening for the House to adopt the bill and subsequently send it to the Governor for enactment. #ADSO #DentistAndDentalHygienistCompact #IncreasingAccess #DSO #MissionDriven
