As February comes to a close, we'd like to share some exciting updates regarding each of our client projects' progress from this past month! Hear from our VLTED Project Manager, Shai Dweck, and our PGA TOUR Project Manager, Erika Peltier, on where their research is headed. VLTED (Shai Dweck): "Over the last several weeks, the VLTED team has been working to conduct research, case studies, and ideate marketing strategies for VLTED to increase their engagement with Gen Z consumers on college campuses. The team began preliminary research on understanding the college consumer and their behavioral preferences in the sport gambling markets, and the generation’s aptitudes toward a risk-free, non-monetary alternative to making sport predictions. To further build on this research, the team crafted and began to circulate a market research survey to gauge University of Michigan students' attitudes and beliefs related to sport betting and VLTED’s mission. In addition, the team has conducted research identifying a variety of case studies of in-person and digital marketing strategies that have been successful in appealing to Gen Z audiences. Currently, the team aims to synthesize its research findings and the data it has collected to build out marketing strategies for VLTED to be presented in the upcoming midpoint presentation." PGA TOUR (Erika Peltier): "For the past few weeks, the Tour team has been working hard to prepare for a midpoint presentation with the client. Primarily, we have been looking at different price points within the Tour’s offering to optimize pricing strategies. We have also worked on an analysis regarding improving the invitational website, information accessibility, and social media. Right now, we are working to collect MAP data and apply these findings to enhance our recommendation."

In honor of Survivor Season 45 premiering tonight, I thought I’d share a bit about my time playing Survivor this summer.** While I wasn’t on an island, I was battling it out in the Catskills during a 5-day, unlicensed version of the game.  Crazy, I know. 😂 Anyway, I’ve always said that Product Marketers would make great Survivor contestants. So, I decided to put that theory to the test. And I think I did. I was the only female AND the only first-time player to make it to the final tribal council and plead my case to the jury. 🎉 So, what did I learn during this wild adventure that also applies to my day job as a PMM? Let's break it down: 1️⃣ Competitive Intelligence is Key During the game, I was up against 15 competitors. On day one, I made it my mission to gather intel on everyone to understand my competition, build alliances, and strategize my way to the top. Just like in PMM, knowing your market and competition inside out is crucial for success. 💡📊 2️⃣ Positioning is Everything In Survivor, just like marketing products, I had to find my unique niche. I couldn't be too aggressive, but I also didn't want to be the one getting carried to the end like a "goat." Finding that perfect balance is key – it's a lot like positioning products to stand out in a crowded market. 🐐🎯 3️⃣ Social Game Wins Every Time Knowing I couldn't win every immunity challenge, I relied on my social game to make my own immunity and stay in the game. Building relationships and working with diverse personalities was my secret weapon, just like in my PMM role where I collaborate with various functions and personalities daily. And similar to being a PMM, playing Survivor is exhausting. It’s safe to say that 5 days in the woods without food was enough for me and you will not be catching me on actual Survivor any time soon (unless you’re reading this Jeff Probst, then count me in). Turns out, I may be more of an Amazing Race girl after all. 😉 But either way – there is a lot of overlap between product marketing and playing this crazy game.
