BASF and Volvo Group have elevated their longstanding partnership to a new level. At a ceremony near Gothenburg on April 8, Dr. Martin Brudermüller and Martin Lundstedt, CEOs of both companies, signed an agreement that establishes a framework for a partnership between the companies. The collaboration will focus on innovations in chemistry to develop materials with low carbon dioxide emissions, as well as increased use of low carbon dioxide products from BASF in Volvo's product portfolio. Both, Volvo and BASF have set ambitious goals to achieve net zero carbon emissions. As leading players in their respective industries, both companies emphasize the importance of #collaboration to achieve their #sustainability goals. "With this new agreement, we have established a mutual understanding and commitment to drive innovations and develop new products and processes - and to contribute to the overall goal of a more sustainable future," said Mark Meier, Managing Director and Vice President of BASF Nordic/Baltic, who participated in Gothenburg. Next week Dr. Malte Wohlfahrt, Synthos Synthetic Rubber R&D Director, will present at Tyre Emissions & Sustainability Europe 2024 in Prague on February 28-29.   As the #tireindustry strives for a net-zero future, the availability of zero-emission raw materials becomes increasingly critical. In his presentation on Day 2, Malte will outline how synthetic rubber can be both sustainable and high performing, achieved through the use of renewable and recycled feedstocks. He'll also bring his extensive knowledge to panel discussions, exploring the complexity of what sustainability means in the tire industry and the challenges of creating a circular economy within this sector. The 13 Tire Technology International Awards for Innovation and Excellence are a celebration of recent advances in #TireTechnology and progress toward a greener and more #sustainable industry, and a chance to acknowledge the personal achievements of some remarkable individuals. The awards, coordinated by Tire Technology International magazine, were officiated by a panel of international journalists and industry experts.
