We're not afraid to talk about abortion—or standing up to censorship. Last month, our TikTok account was suspended, without cause and without warning. While we were able to get it reinstated a few days later, it wasn't the first time we've had to deal with being censored, shadowbanned, or suppressed on social media. Abortion is common, essential health care, and sharing medically accurate information to people should not be politicized. Social media censorship is directly leading to people NOT being able to get accurate info when time is of the essence. So, we took a stand. We posted about it here, we pushed back on TikTok, and we spoke to The New York Times about the ongoing issues we've faced as the leading telemedicine abortion provider in the US. And we're not alone—today Amnesty International USA released a report outlining all the ways that social media is silencing abortion care organizations (including Hey Jane). But there are ways that you can help: 1) 👋 Follow us on TikTok and Instagram! We're @heyjanehealth 2) ❤️ Like, share, and comment on our social media posts—they're often suppressed, so every little bit of engagement helps 3) 💥 Update your content preferences on Instagram—all abortion content is labeled "political content" and your account will automatically limit what gets shown to you unless you go into your Settings and manually change it 4) 🖋️ Sign Amnesty International's petition calling out censorship on Meta and TikTok (see link in comments) 5) 📣 Help us spread the word IRL—sign up to receive free stickers, flyers, and more that you can hand out in your community (see link in comments) Thank you to our community for your support, it means everything to us as we continue to provide safe, discreet abortion care during this pivotal moment. https://lnkd.in/gFfnKd8m

Censorship regarding women's health is too common. Thank you for changing the way our younger generations have access to information!
