#elderabuse https://lnkd.in/eJG3qJdN When the NY Courts, who had no jurisdiction over this woman from New Jersey, declared this woman "incapacitated" the "Guardian" covered up the financial fraud against her, putting her illegally on MEDICAID and Manhattan Supreme Court let the "Guardian" sell her house in New Jersey and the Guardian pocketed the profits. All rubber stamped by the Manhattan Supreme Court judge. What if My Income or Assets Are Higher than I Reported? Medicaid applicants should never knowingly report income and / or assets as lower than they are. Doing so is a serious offense, and in fact, is illegal. In addition to potentially being convicted of a felony charge, there are several other possible consequences to lying on a Medicaid application. Persons can be punished with jail time, receive a significant fine, be required to repay Medicaid for the medical / long-term care expenses for which it paid, lose their Medicaid benefits, and never be able to qualify for Medicaid again. #illegalcourts #lying #medicaidapplication

For those interested in developments involving the False Claims Act, check out the article I published with my colleagues Brian Tully McLaughlin and Olivia Lynch discussing how investigations involving pandemic relief fraud are likely to continue for years to come.
Although the COVID-19 public health declaration officially ended in May, government investigations of pandemic relief fraud are far from over. Read more by Crowell's Jason M. Crawford, Brian Tully McLaughlin, and Olivia Lynch:

Another gem of a brief in appliedpolicebriefings.com. This one was written by Bruno Verschuere and his colleagues and is titled, Discriminating Deceptive From Truthful Statements Using the Verifiability Approach. Anyone interested in lie detection should check it out. Some key takeaways: (1) When considering suspect statements, truthful statements contain more verifiable details compared to deceptive statements, supporting a core prediction of the Verifiability Approach (VA) to lie detection. (2) However, this difference of verifiable details between truthful and deceptive statements is not always found. For example, the difference emerges for alibi statements, but not for other types of statements, such as statements related to insurance claims. (3) While the VA appears to be a useful tool for detecting lying in laboratory-based studies, the effectiveness of the VA in real-world policing contexts remains unknown. 5moMaybe it would do some good financially if you went back to 2005. Back then the philosophy was it wasn't worth spending the money to fix something that was right. That was said by a senior member of a division after being told of the issue by a low grade employee with 25 years of auditing with other firms prior Highmark that no one considered.
