We partnered with the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium all season and are proud to continue that partnership leading up to the big game. We, Damar Hamlin and the Buffalo Bills surprised Jim Damon, a selfless Buffalonian, who noticed a woman experiencing a medical emergency in her car on I-90. Once the car stopped against the median, he sprang into action, removed her from the car and performed CPR that saved her life. We, Damar and the Buffalo Bills wanted to thank Jim for his heroic actions and stopped by his classroom to surprise him with a trip to the Super Bowl!

Yesterday, voters in Kansas City rejected a ballot initiative to continue to impose a small sales tax to help pay for a downtown ballpark for the Royals and renovations to Arrowhead Stadium. This after the Chiefs just won the SUPERBOWL. Its clear that P3's around sports and entertainment complexes are becoming a tougher sell to some communities skeptical about their long term benefit. I think it speaks to larger issues of changing affinities for baseball, an aging fan base, the general health of regional economies, our 'blame' culture, and more. The A's are going through a different exercise within the same realities in their quest to move from Oakland to Las Vegas. We tend to think about the arc of sports ownership through the lens of the elite owners who take up the headlines with their means to do everything themselves and build their empire beyond team ownership, but this story is much more the reality of what communities are collectively confronting. Are sports teams, like universities, hospitals and other institutions part of what makes a community unique, interesting, and vital; are they worth fighting for, and at what price? What do you think? https://lnkd.in/gj8Bj6Pt

Consultant, Coach. Writer & Educator Helping Entrepreneurs & Creative Professionals Get What They Want Out of Business and Life
GET YOUR HANDS OUT OF OUR POCKETS The latest version of the American Family Field repair & update bill still calls for hundreds of millions of dollars from you and me, i.e., taxpayers. The stadium is actually owned by the State of Wisconsin…that’s you and me. So, I’m not saying we shouldn’t contribute something towards a building that we own. However, it’s simply way out of proportion: Mark Antannasio (Brewers team owner) is a gazillionaire who employs millionaires to play a game and entertain us. The team rakes in millions upon millions of dollars from ticket sales and, most importantly, TV contracts. Further, the intellectually lazy Brewers and Republican legislators have completely failed to think creatively and come up with alternative sources of funding, such as commercial development on some portion of the stadium’s parking lots. Instead, our brilliant MadTown Republican legislators are calling for a “study” of potential commercial development of the area surrounding the stadium. A “study”? NOW? If it were a real business, wouldn’t you have started (and completed) that “study” BEFORE you present your final plan for financing the repairs/upgrades? That’s probably too difficult a concept for the Brewers and legislators to grasp. Instead, they’re telling us that we’ll have to live with the usual knee-jerk solution: let the suckers…oh, I mean, taxpayers foot the bill. I say let the deep-pockets guys pay the vast majority of repairing/updating the stadium. It’s really their little playpen, so let ‘em pay their own way. #milwaukee #brewers #stadium #americanfamilyfield #money #finance #wisconsin #legislature #republicans #state #taxpayers #atannasio https://lnkd.in/g8QV_y3T

Game 4 should be exciting to watch. The Offense could be explosive as we have lots of areas to improve. Clean up the penalties and stay healthy are the keys for this matchup. This weekend Vol fans need the following to happen. 1. We need teams ranked between 15-22 to lose. Most likely you could see Colorado, UCLA, Washington St, and Ole Miss (or Bama) take an L. 2. This could get us ranked 19 or so, depending on if Florida jumps us. We should be ranked 15 going into the A&M game. 3. You would like to see South Carolina beat Mississippi State. If not they will be 1-3 next week and would not be considered a quality win. Go Vols get this win and be ready for SEC play next week.

Here's a fascinating article about the origins of the NFL. Did you know that most teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs, are still in private hands? The Chiefs, founded as the Dallas Texans in 1960, moved to Kansas City in 1962. Interestingly, this was just a few years before the founding of Lockton Companies in 1966. The Chiefs are primarily owned by the Hunt family, while Lockton Companies are owned by the Lockton family. It's impressive to see a successful sports investment company and the largest privately held insurance broker in the world in the same place. Kansas City must be proud! An interesting article on life in the NIL era. In addition to the University of Colorado's large contingent of media staff, Deion Sanders, Jr. has a separate social media empire, and runs the YouTube channels of several Buffaloes' players. Coach Prime bankrolls Deion Jr.'s venture, and given his both personal and financial investment in the players, I doubt Coach Prime plans to leave Colorado anytime soon. (This article doesn't discuss another member of the social media team, Darius Sanders, who isn't related to the other Sanderses) https://lnkd.in/gv-d_4Rp
