Introducing Curv, a 60-storey architectural marvel, poised to become the tallest Passive House globally. Structural columns elegantly slope to match the gradual undulating facade, resulting in long open spans and generous unit plans. With 10 levels of below-grade parking providing 324 vehicle stalls, convenience meets sustainability at every level. Curv's Passive House design means up to 90% less energy consumption compared to conventional buildings, translating to significant utility bill savings for residents. The Curv takes energy efficiency and sustainability to heart in the structure as well by implementing innovative damper technology to control the building movement, diminishing the material use and embodied carbon of the project. CURV, developed by Groupe Brivia and designed by WKK Architects, is set to be the world’s tallest Passive House development. Standing 60-storeys tall, the development consists of over 492,000 SF and 10 levels of below grade parking. The Passive House design results in a building which is set to consume up to 90% less energy compared to a conventional building. Structural columns elegantly slope to match the gradual undulating façade, resulting in long open spans and generous unit plans. . The Curv takes energy efficiency and sustainability to heart in the structure as well, by implementing innovative damper technology to control the building movement, diminishing the material use and embodied carbon of the project. Also on Day2 of #BridgesScotland 2023: Keith Brownlie from BEAM Architects BRIDGE DESIGNERS explained how the context of the #BracklinnFallsFootbridge determined a #modularbridge to be the optimal new #crossing for the site; From the hostile site environment that caused the #failure and #deterioration of earlier #pedestrianbridges, through the challenges of accessing the location, and the specifications requiring the new bridge to have a service life of 120 years, to the eagerness of locals to restore access to the #BracklinnFalls for walkers and cyclists as quickly as possible, the project had to tackle a series of challenges in its #design and #construction; ✔ The new non-slip #weatheringsteel #footbridge consisting of 8 sections of folded Z-shaped segments was designed with functionality, safety and user experience in mind; ✔The modular panels enabled incremental construction with sparse equipment, overcoming the #accesschallenges and space constraints of the site; ✔The perforated bridge segments serve as viewing platforms, bur even more importantly - reduced the weight and #carbonfootprint of the structure; ✔The project achieved an A+ carbon efficiency grade on the Net Zero Bridges Group rating system; 👉 The talk finished by announcing that Cake Industries who produced the bridge are now offering the Z-Bridge #modularsystem with spans from 5 to 22 meters.
