Winning a Hackathon, that's one more thing I can add to the list of accomplishments this year! More than just winning a prize, this Hackathon meant facing new challanges, learning, and never giving up. I thank Gustavo Pimentel for working through day and night with me to develop a solution not only technically good but also valuable as a product. I am sure I will carry what I learnt from you throughout my journey. I also thank Avenue Code for making this possible. I think there is no better way to engage employees in learning a new technology other than really requiring them to get hands on experience with it. It makes me proud to be an Avenuecoder. Wednesday news: 600+ registrations, Application for judges is closed, one week left We’re super excited to share that in just a few days, over 600 people have applied to join our hackathon! We’re now diving into reviewing all the applications. Quick reminder: our hackathon's main goal is to build a brand-new AI platform for developers. During the prototyping phase, the AI will handle the boring stuff, giving you more time to focus on the fun and interesting work. Here’s what you can expect if you’re a participant: 1. Application: We’re checking all profiles and only selecting those with the right experience and skills. 2. Confirmation: You got an invitation email. Fill out the detailed form and invite your friends to join in. 3. Team: Form a team with your friends to compete for the winner’s title and make a splash in the community. 4. Workshop: Attend the opening ceremony and a workshop by the judges, where you’ll get your task, learn all the evaluation details, and chat with the judges. 5. Start: Work on your tasks, get advice from mentors, and unleash your creativity! 6. Deadline: Submit your projects and record a short video explaining how everything works and what it’s made of. 7. Review: Judges will select only those projects that meet the criteria for the showcase event. 8. Showcase Event: Present your solutions and answer questions from the judges. 9. Winner: Judges will pick the phase winner. All other teams will add new features to the winning project in the next phases. 10. Last Saturday, I attended a hackathon at AGI House. And it was a blast (as always, Rocky Yu rocks). A hackathon was centered around RAG applications (sponsored by Together AI, LangChain and Weights & Biases). RAG is a method for grounding language models in data. We didn't clinch the top spot, but our innovative approach earned a nod from one of the jury members (Alex Volkov). Here's a snapshot of what me (and my incredible teammates Shawn Park and Evren Cakir) engineered: 🔤 Input Phase: Users input their idea of what they want to create. 🤖 Transformation: These ideas are transformed into embeddings within a latent space. 🔎 Idea Exploration: We fetch N-neighboring ideas by leveraging brief descriptions from existing companies on Crunchbase. 📊 Visualization: Through TSNE, these N closest ideas are turned into a 3D point cloud. 💠 Clustering: We use DBScan to identify clusters within this cloud. 👩🔧 Sampling & Naming: Each cluster's company descriptions are sampled and fed into an LLM to generate a name for the cluster. 💁♂️ Result: Users receive a visual representation of where their idea sits in the latent idea space and discover adjacent ideas. While the hackathon win eluded us, the experience was incredibly enriching. The potential application for VR excites me—imagine fully immersing yourself in the latent idea space, manipulating concepts with your hands! Hello connections, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the LEAP 2024 Hackathon. It was a 72-hour event aimed at developing AI solutions to tackle global sustainability challenges. The hackathon exposed me to the cutting-edge of artificial intelligence and its vast potential. Around 200 innovators gathered at the event, and we had access to powerful AI platforms such as DALL-E for image generation, GPT-4 for text processing, Gemini for multimodal AI, and Stability for video generation. We also had access to emerging technologies such as Weaviate for vector search and data modeling, and Vectara for zero-shot learning. The hackathon was a whirlwind of coding sessions, brainstorming ideation, and invaluable mentorship. Innovations spanned sustainability, healthcare, biotech, smart cities and more - a true showcase of how AI can create a better world. Despite the impressive diversity of solutions, a common thread was harnessing advanced AI capabilities in novel and socially-conscious ways.   The LEAP 2024 Hackathon was an eye-opening experience. Witnessing brilliant minds from around the world collaborate and push technological boundaries was truly inspiring. I'm energized to further explore the AI space and discover how I can leverage tools like Weaviate and Vectara to develop impactful solutions. #generativeai #llm #openai #langchain

🔬 Just wanted to share what I've been up to lately: diving into Evidence-Based Diagnostic AI! Been tinkering with it to make sure it gives accurate symptom evaluations, using some new tech like RAG or Agentic AI. Exciting stuff, right? Recently I got a chance to participate in a hackathon named #geekle.ai arranged by Geekle.us where People from 5 to 15 years experience in tech field had participated . In This hackathon we have to build an AI model which will assist professionals knowing which is the better tech stack to use for their desired input - It will give them a comparison with many solutions of a problem in table form .Then user can choose between them according to his need . In this hackathon , we have to go through four phases and every phase will have its own winner. At the beginning there were 10 teams which have participated . Yesterday was the last day to submit our project for the phase one and only five teams could submit the project. And it is a pleasure for me that our team #FR1 was one of the 5 teams . The hard work and experience of our team members Nick Chebotar , Robin Tang , Ichwan Haryo Sembodo , Kostiantyn Muntian , Abhinav and Prince Chisomaga was the reason behind our successful submission. Nick Chebotar is our team lead for this hackathon, now we are heading towards the phase 2 of this hackathon. The leadership of Nick has a main focus on how to make a healthy work environment to make everyone feel comfortable in spite of the different time zones of all the teammates. There was a great experience which I had in the company of these experts. I have also learnt that how we can integrate ai to solve the real world problems and how we can submit MVP at a much faster pace and got a experience of collaborating with People from all over the world with different time zones. But this hackathon is some thing that is just at another level where the judges are from renowned tech companies. It was great to take insights from them during presentation of our project. Today the winner of phase 1 will be decided . So stay connected with me till than.
