“We can’t survive without your support!” I often hear local small business owners say something to this effect—begging people to come to their shop or buy their products. For some reason, small business owners tend to think that simply being a small business owner should earn you someone’s patronage. I’ve never once had that thought. It caught me off guard the first time I heard someone express the thought. Yes, supporting small businesses, especially local businesses, is near and dear to my heart. Do it! Leave a local business you love a Google review before you finish reading this. No, I don’t think you owe me anything just because I’m a small business owner out here on my own. Every small business (every business, period.) is responsible for making these things clear… - What problem do you solve? - How do you solve it? - How do you make my life better? - What makes your service/product more valuable to me than the similar one I can get online for cheaper/faster? If we, as small business owners, can’t make the case for our business in this way, people don’t owe us their business. We’re not entitled to succeed. We need to learn how to market and sell, even if it doesn’t come easy. Choosing not to is a choice to fail. I don’t want you to fail. I love helping small businesses find the best way to talk about the amazing work they do. If you need some help, drop me a DM! #smallbusiness #smallbusinessowner #brandmessaging #farmersmarket #smallbiz

Today is National Small Business Day. Let's celebrate the inspiring people behind small business. ⭐️ Check out my Business Owner Stories Series in my previous posts. So many brave, visionary and dedicated people. Follow me and stay tuned for more stories to come - I post a new one each Monday. While there are certainly rewards, leading a small business can be exhausting. Many owners are working harder than ever for less return; scaling a business can be tough; and many are feeling tied to their business with less time and freedom for the lifestyle they want. I urge you to support small businesses when you can, especially today! And, if you're a small business owner, celebrate your progress today. 👏👏👏 I've got some 'free-stuff' on my website that might help you keep going. https://lnkd.in/gNCpf2mv https://lnkd.in/g4iGCBPe [email protected] #NationalSmallBusinessDay #BusinessOwnerStory #InspiringPeople #BusinessCoaching #Community

Businesses live and die on cash flow. If yours is bad - or even if it isn't where you want it to be - and that business is relying on your hustle to keep getting by, you're in trouble. It doesn't have to be that way. But hustle isn't the answer. It's a stopgap. It's a way to keep treading water while you hope the world changes around you or a lottery prize drops into your lap. The answer is focused, purposeful, action that *makes your business better*. Action that makes your biz more efficient. Action that makes your biz more effective. Action that means you'll have *consistent positive cash flow* for as long as you want it. If you need to know how to get off the hustle treadmill and start taking that action, be at our event on July 11th. If you need to know how to do it better or if you need an expert perspective, you should attend too. Let's get you back on track toward your goals.

I am very privileged to work with incredible small business owners, but by far the biggest issue they come to me with is confidence, or a lack of, which can severely impact all areas of their business 😔 There are often a lot of feelings of being worthy or good enough to be taken seriously as a small business owner. Couple this with the often over-egged, glossy and far-fetched Instagram idea of how a small business can look. It’s something which can lead to small business owners running for the hills. The first thing to remember here is how special and inspiring you already are. It takes guts and determination to take an idea and turn it into a business and put yourself out there. Also, it can also be lonely at times, which is why finding like-minded people is so vital. Befriend fellow business owners, get involved in communities (such as your local Chamber of Commerce or Small Business Britain) and immerse yourself in the world of small business. It’s in these communities that people have your back and are there to lift you up when you have a wobble. Turning up every day within your business can be really hard work. It’s deeply personal, and you can often feel exposed. But remember you started for a reason, you’re good at what you do, and your audience is out there 🙌 And if you do need a helping hand, do get in touch and have a read of my latest blog which talks all about the main five issues small business owners face. You are most definitely not on your own. https://lnkd.in/eExyP2hU #NewBlog #SmallBizOwners #SmallBusinessOwners #SmallBizChallenges #InspiringBusinesses #BusinessCoach

We are almost half way through the year.🤪 I don't know about you but I am over the constant doom and gloom narrative of 2024. I keep hearing the saying "Survive till 2025." Well screw that! I would rather be filling my head with "Thrive till 2025 and beyond!" What different results will show up by changing from the first saying to the second one? We can all get trapped in particular narratives and stories that have a real impact on what shows up for us and how we show up in the world. We do have a choice about what we fill our heads with and what actions we take. And I know people will be rolling their eyes at me because I don't understand the hardship people are going through, and changing a few words isn't going to magically fix things. You're right, it won't magically fix things, and this isn't about denying that there is pain and hardship going on. There is. There are some people going through incredibly hard times. The same with some businesses. I've had to navigate some big personal and businesses challenges this year as well. But there are also people thriving and there are businesses thriving right now too. Yes, there is a lot that is out of our control, and there is also so much that we CAN control and change to make our life and business better. During tougher times, often we need different strategies. What worked during the good times, doesn't work during the tough times. Some of those actions are shifting our thoughts, emotions and energy to make things better, and some of those actions are practical business strategies to get things moving more effectively in the business. I'm keen to give back to the small business community and help empower them to move forward right now. So I'm running a powerful "Get Back Your Business Spark" 5 day challenge to give small business owners practical strategies that are working in the current economic environment to get back on track. Let's create better times ahead. If you are interested then click here to find out more and sign up, it's 100% free 👇 https://lnkd.in/gs2B4vm9 PS. If you know any small business owners that would benefit from a positive change in direction for their business, I would appreciate it if you could share this around. Thanks. 💖

Running a small business is an amazing, awful, high, low, lonely, happy, stressed mess that constantly flips between I'm-the-master-of-my-destiny and let-me-throw-in-the-towel. Business owners know this. The euphoria of landing a new customer. The lamentation of ghosting. But, often, those same business owners don't admit those truths. At this week's Business Show and networking events, almost everyone claimed that everything is fantastic. We're smashing our goals. The money's rolling in! It's Business Peacocking. The reality is running your own business is tough. It can be lonely. It can have you questioning your passions, purpose, and proficiency. And it's absolutely worth it. Whether we admit it or not, we understand and appreciate this rollercoaster of a journey - including the bits that have you fealing nauseated. So, fellow business owners. This Small Business Saturday, let's stop with the peacocking and ask for support. #SmallBusiness #itsoktonotbeok #smallbusinesssaturday
