Historic Environment Scotland’s Post

At Historic Environment Scotland we have a wide remit and responsibilities. How we carry out our work is guided by our Corporate Plan. It’s time for us to revisit this roadmap and think about what our mission will look like over the coming years, and we need your help! With such varied responsibilities, it’s always a challenge to identify the best way forward. We care for internationally important buildings and archives; we award millions of pounds in grants each year; we protect Scotland's historic environment through listing and designations; we support schools and universities with learning; we help nurture traditional skills; and much, much more. But in the wake of the pandemic, with the cost of living crisis still impacting communities and the climate emergency already having an impact on Scotland’s built heritage, where can we best put our efforts given limited resources? Tell us what you think. On Tuesday 30 July at 2pm we’re hosting an online workshop where you can help shape our work over the next three years. Find out more and book https://ow.ly/UCTN50SyxsF If you can’t join us for the workshop, don’t worry – we’ll be releasing an online consultation later this summer, and running more events – both in-person and online – around that. 📷 Lochranza Castle by Lee Howard
