Our Summer Clerks continue to work hard while enjoying the relationship-building aspects of our summer program! Last week, Denver and Boulder Summer Clerks, Colorado Litigation Practice attorneys, and summer program members gathered at a dinner party at the home of Practice Group Leader Matt Smith. Our Salt Lake City summer clerks, guests, and summer program members had a blast getting to know each other better and enjoyed delicious food at the Salt Lake Institute of Culinary Education. #WeAreHollandHart #SummerClerk

In the realm of digital storytelling, few endeavors are as rewarding and impactful as producing a video that shares the inspiring journey of a blind, Muslim law student who aspires to become an attorney. Such a narrative transcends the boundaries of media technology, touching the core of human resilience, diversity, and the power of pursuing one's dreams. The goal is not just to inform, but to forge a connection that sparks a profound sense of shared humanity. Working alongside Syed, my role as a digital artist, a curator, and a messenger of hope — is about more than just crafting a sequence of moving images; it's about weaving together emotions, thoughts, and the very essence of his journey. #socialmedia #socialimpact
When Syed Mahmud Rizvi - a rising Harvard Law School 3L - wanted to capture his summer experience at V&E, we more than happily obliged. Each of our Summer Associates brings a unique sense of self and special talent to our firm, and in return, we strive to offer everyone a summer experience built just for them - and Syed was no exception. #WeAreVE #summerassociate #futurelawyer #lawstudents #lawschoollife

It's hard to believe one of my absolute favorite annual events is nearly upon us - the Professional Development Consortium (PDC) summer conference! I'm looking forward to seeing so many friends in San Diego, and am especially excited to present with John "The Purple Coach" Mitchell on our (somewhat) cheekily-entitled session, "Cracking the Code: Top Three Reasons Your Law Firm's Strategic Plan is Likely to Fail (and What You Can Do About It)."

It's time for the next #FACSfamFriday! Meet Grant Paulson, our Contract Administrator based in the Hayward office. Below, you will find all of Grant's answers to our questions as well as a graphic with a few snapshots of Grant enjoying his hobbies and passions outside of work. Do you have any questions for Grant or other FACS employees you'd like to see answered in the next #FACSfamFriday? Let us know by commenting on this post. What’s your favorite thing about working at FACS? One of the things I love most about working at FACS is the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that have a positive impact on the environment. It's incredibly fulfilling to be part of a team that's dedicated to making a difference in the world. What is one thing we don't know about you (non-work-related)? Outside of work, I'm all about hockey, golf, hiking, and most importantly, spending quality time with my family. What is one thing that you geek out about? I'm a bit of a history buff and love diving into the stories and events that have shaped our world. Whether it's ancient civilizations, wars, or cultural movements, I find it fascinating to explore the complexities of the past and how they've influenced our present. What is your favorite store to shop at in-person or virtually? When it comes to shopping, I'm a huge fan of browsing through local farmer's markets. Do you have any pets? Yes, I'm proud to say I have a rescue dog named Tusk, who brings endless joy to my life. He's a delightful mix of Shiba Inu and Husky, and our favorite activity is going to the brewery together and hunting lizards! What is your favorite book to read? Two of my top picks are "The Worlds That Made Us" by Akhil Reed Amar, delving into the historical roots of American constitutional law, and any work by Dr. Seuss, whose imaginative stories always bring joy and inspiration. What is your favorite random fact? The term "Windy City" was not originally coined because of Chicago's weather, but rather because of its politicians.

One thing we have done each October as a team at Springs Law Group is have a pumpkin carving competition. But here's the twist - it's not just about who carves the best pumpkin! It's about fostering a culture of creativity, teamwork, and healthy competition, traits invaluable in a law firm. We've found that such out-of-the-box activities have a surprisingly positive impact on our overall productivity and work environment. Imagine the lively discussions, the laughter, and the joy of a team coming together, all ignited by a simple, yet unique event like a pumpkin carving competition. Next time your team feels low on energy, try out something similar. Inject a little fun into your work life; you might be pleasantly surprised by the results. So, go ahead, be unconventional and let the pumpkins do the talking! Tag a colleague who you think might need this injection of joy and creativity in their workplace.
