Two weeks ago, I went skiing for the first time! ⛷️ I was very excited; it was a dream of mine to do it. Now, when putting on all the clothes and gear, it was very uncomfortable at first (those shoes are killers!), being in an icy and slippery place, and looking down a steep slope made me very frightened. 😬🏔️ However, with the encouragement of a dear friend and remembering that I was capable of doing it, I went down. Of course, I threw myself to the sides when gaining too much speed and fell down many, many times. 🤸♂️💥 Finally, after going down the same slope more than 10 times that day, I was able to go down without falling! 🎉 And last week, after a few days of practice, I was able to go down other green slopes, and I even tackled my first blue slope. 🎿💪 In conclusion, it is natural to feel frightened when trying something new while pursuing your dreams. It takes us out of our comfort zone. I believe that what is most important is to trust that you are capable of doing it, to be humble enough to acknowledge that it might be a long and challenging process, but with practice, you will gain tools and improve. Finally, don’t forget to enjoy and try to catch a glimpse of the beautiful view when you are not trying to survive and surround yourself with people who support you! #FirstTimeExperience #Challenges🌟🏞️

Do you ever feel like something is impossible? That no matter how hard you try, you won't be able to find a solution or reach your goal? Then come to find out the only person in your way is…YOU!   It's easy to let our minds become our biggest demotivator. But it's important to remember that the mind is a powerful tool, we can catch these self-defeating thoughts, and overcome them. I've found that focusing on one activity at a time, using time-blocking on my calendar, and eliminating distractions has helped the mountain become a mere speed bump. How to reconcile skiing and the environment? Skiing is part of my DNA, I started in the French Jura in 1976 when I was 3 years old, in freezing Mouthe for cross-country skiing, then donwhill skiing in Metabief, before moving to the French Alps, mainly to Les Arcs. In recent years, I have been wondering about my use of the mountain, I was one of the (…) who threw their butts from the teleseats, who coated the mountain with eternal pollutants – #PFA – through the ski wax. Not to mention the use of the ‘toasters’ kind of heaters of these thermal sieves that are the French mountain flats. I am not forgetting the use of water to supply the water hoses, the destruction of habitats to create the pipeline network for these same hoses. Or the not-so-kind-for-the-wildlife noise of ski slope restaurants that are transforming themselves into daytime nightclubs. Yes, I forgot the shameful usage of electric scooter to make a short distance and admire Notre Dame des Vernettes church under the snow. And now, what do we have? Fewer snow episodes, intense summer heat, decaying mountains, and clumps falling on the hikers’ heads. Hence the value of the document published by the Court of Auditors, which focuses on the #ski stations, their climatic, social and economic vulnerability. A very detailed, pointed document, but one that can finally be read.

I vividly remember the first time I went skiing. My friend, Tim, said he was taking me "right to the TOP of the Mountain" and we'd ski down together. I was scared, optomistic and didn't have a clue what to do. The hill looked steep. Others were going down easily. Tim showed me how to snow plow, turn left, turn right, and stop. Then he left me to learn on my own. Through trial and error (mostly error) I learned how to ski. It wasn't the smooth swoosh I saw others doing and it worked. Later I realized that my TOP of the Mountain was the top of the bunny slope. I now know that because I've started runs at the real TOPS of Mountains. I may not have seen the real TOP of the Mountain if I didn't try to ski first. Thinking back, I wish I had bought some ski lessons to speed up my learning. Reflecting about ski day in Granada Observing today after some days in Sierra Nevada type of persons and their behaviors. People who doesn’t want to take any lesson because they think it is easy and they know , People who is willing to do but doesn’t have any clue so they are waiting for someone to tell what are the steps People purpose are different as well : climb the most difidicult ones, Just know how to stop in case something happen . People just go up to see landscape and take an expansive beer while other’s fall. What is clear and this is something not aplicable only when people skiing , need to do what motivate you, and feel confortable , with a clear purpose, communicate expectations to others , asking por trainings if necesary to reach this and colective goal avoiding people running on different which by the way on the ski means clashes and accidents Small reflection of the day on vacation ☺️

Know your audience. Don't assume you know what they need. Ask them what their pain point is. Then Listen. For example, I don't like skiing, but my husband loved it, so I gave it a try. I took a lesson and reached the bottom of the bunny slope. By then, I had realized two things. One, I don't like being out in the cold at all. Two, with my fear of heights, I would never get past the bunny slope because I would never get on a ski lift. I packed it in and went to the lodge, where I enjoyed a nice hot drink by the fire. Fast-forward a few years. My mother-in-law, who also loved skiing, decided to give me a pep talk so I'd come to love skiing like they did. We had previously discussed my fear of heights, so you'd think that her pep talk would be about the safety of the lifts or the ease of getting on and off them. But, no, that wasn't her focus at all. She told me about avalanches...AVALANCHES! No thank you, I will stay in the lodge. So find your client's pain point whether it be location, price, square-footage, etc., and address how you can help them solve it. #cremarketinglife

I spent a lot of time last week solo skiing (as my husband had an injury on day one…but that’s another story!). When you are alone for 7-8 hours in the mountains it gives you a lot of time to think. It’s the kind of thinking you do when you’re not trying to think, you’re totally concentrating on something else - like how to get down the icy, lumpy black run in front of you, or which cafe to stop in for another little pit stop. Being in the mountains never fails to help me get perspective on life. I guess it’s their pure awe-inspiring majestic presence that makes everything else seem smaller and less important. Amidst the vast expanse of snowy peaks, all those nagging worries and self-doubts I carry tend to melt away. It's a reminder of the freedom we have to choose what truly matters in life. ❓ Why spend precious time on things that don't add value or bring joy? It's a question worth asking ourselves every now and then, don't you think? What truly matters, and what's simply noise in the grand scheme of things? What are we worrying about that we will look back on in even a few weeks time and wonder why we wasted our energy. Just putting this out there in case anybody needs to hear it today.
