Like many others, I have been fortunate enough to join a reknown MNC: Standard Chartered Bank. I joined as a client due diligence analyst and that too in the corporate division. Now that i have shifted to a bigger role of the same segment, I have realized how my previous job played a great role in my growth. business or market. Thus, the practice of due diligence is indispensable for minimizing risks, preserving brand integrity, and fostering long-term success in the corporate world. Experience in due diligence can open doors to diverse career opportunities. For instance, individuals with a background in due diligence can transition into careers in risk management. These professionals become adept at identifying and mitigating risks, making them suitable for roles such as risk analysts, assessors, or managers. They play a pivotal role in helping organizations navigate financial, operational, and compliance risks. Additionally, those with due diligence expertise can venture into the field of mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Within this domain, individuals serve as M&A analysts or consultants. They play a crucial role in evaluating potential deals, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and managing the complexities of mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures. Their expertise is instrumental in facilitating seamless transitions and creating value for organizations. These are just two examples of how experience in due diligence can open doors to various rewarding careers across multiple industries, including finance, law, consulting, and auditing. #duediligence #corporatefinance #financialanalysis #riskmitigation

Assistant Vice President Planning & Governance (Public Relations) at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) SSC
Almost One Month at SMBC SSC: A Thrilling Journey! It's hard to believe that this week will be remarkably one month since I embarked on this incredible adventure as Assistant Vice President of Planning and Governance (Public Relations) at SMBC SSC. Here's what I've come to love about my new role and workplace: 🌈 Hybrid Working: Embracing a hybrid work arrangement has done wonders for my mental health. The flexibility and balance have been a game-changer. 🚶♂️ Health Boost: Walking and using public transportation to the office have improved my physical well-being, one step at a time. 🏢 Open Workspace: Our open working station fuels creativity and collaboration, making every day inspiring. ⏱️ Efficient Meetings: With most meetings wrapping up in just half an hour, we prioritize action over lengthy discussions. Time well spent! 👥 Supportive VP: My manager isn't just a leader; he's a buddy who guides and involves me in key decisions. 🌍 ESG & CSR: I'm thrilled to be tasked with driving ESG initiatives, CSR activities, and internal communications, while also seeking opportunities to amplify our company's visibility. 🌏 APAC PR Connections: Meeting PR representatives from across APAC has been eye-opening. My English has improved leaps and bounds, and I'm living my dream of internationalization. This is precisely what I've aspired to achieve, and I'm excited about the road ahead. Thank you, SMBC SSC, for making it all possible! 🚀💼 #OneMonthAnniversary #HybridWork #WellnessAtWork #ESG #CSR #ExcitingOpportunities

This week I had the privilege of representing Bain & Company at Transaction Advisors Institute's M&A conference with my colleagues Emily Criste and Suzanne K. While it may come as no surprise that deal volume is down. Deals ARE very much still happening. They are just taking a bit longer to get done. But, this gives buyers the ability to do more robust diligence so they have more confidence in what they are acquiring. And also more time to get ahead of integration planning to accelerate value upon close. If you have not yet read Bain's mid-year M&A update, you can find it here: https://lnkd.in/eqecXv6e And please reach out on any M&A related topics from M&A strategy to diligence to accelerating value delivery. I would love to nerd out on any of these topics with you.

One of the most surprising lessons I've learned since joining Oliver Wyman’s Turnaround and Restructuring practice is how unique each engagement is. Every client's situation is different, and there's no one-size-fits-all approach. I'm fortunate to work with a very diverse and accomplished team. Our practice has the breadth and depth of experience to support virtually every issue that comes up, from large-scale organizational transformation in financial institutions, to interim management in advanced manufacturing, to debtor- and creditor-side negotiations. The complexity of restructuring engagements provides the opportunity to make a material impact for our clients. We work alongside client teams on their biggest issues, whether it’s helping an underperforming business unit to regain its competitive edge or a distressed company access a credit facility to power their strategic transformation. It’s always rewarding to see what we can accomplish together. Up next in our #RestructuringReflections series, is a post from my colleague Shobhit Kumar who details the impact of his work, both professionally and personally.
