Cardamom is one of the most expensive spices in the world, after saffron and vanilla. Wondering why? The answer is simple - it's because of the time-consuming process of handpicking. Green cardamom seeds are grown only in a few places throughout the world and need to be harvested by hand, making it a premium quality spice. #indianexporter #tipoftheday #spiceexporter #vegetableexporter #premiumquality #deliveryontime #spain #netherlands #europe #USA #washington #mexico #germany #IndianProduce #FarmToGlobal #ExportQuality #SpiceOfIndia #AgriculturalExports #IndianAgriculture #FarmersOfIndia #GreenRevolution #HealthyHarvest #GlobalMarketplace #SustainableFarming #FarmFreshIndia #IndianVegetables #FlavorsOfIndia #AgriExport

What we can learn from our raisin industry over the past 100 years: - There will always be shortages and overproductions because we work with agriculture that has a cycle tendency - Not only the short term should be considered, its our responsibility to take a long term view - Raisins cannot be produced anywhere in our country or even in the world and therefore, with our climate advantage, we must stay focussed on growing high quality raisins #raisinindustry #fruitprocess #driedfruit #fruitfarming #sultanas

Seed sector is a line connecting two dots: the #market and the #coffee #farmer. It’s an established fact that the #coffeeindustry at large is in dire need of a strong #seedsector, where origins and varieties can be determined to avoid #mismarketing and fraudulent labeling. On the other hand, in order to sustain their #livelihoods and reputations, while fetching the correct #prices for their coffees, farmers need access to quality and reliable seedlings that can withstand their local #climatic conditions. The ‘true to type-ness’ of the variety is as important to the producer as the yield and #productivity of their crop. Around the world, seedlings are usually sourced from informal networks and word-of-mouth neighbourhood nurseries. As such, there is no way to accurately identify the varieties that the farmers are planting, or the yield potential given their local climatic conditions and #access to resources. By developing, and later promoting, strong seed sectors, Qima Foundation seeks to pave the way to improve #geneticdiversity of coffee crops, enhance disease resistance that are claiming vast swathes of coffee produce, and increase the overall productivity for coffee farmers. Cross pollination and strong collaboration between #academia, coffee experts, market #leaders and on-ground teams will be key to achieving this, and Qima Foundation is at the forefront of making this possible.
