An important survey highlighting that nine in ten people think that a diverse mix of participants in health and social care research is important. There is still work to do however, as the survey found 30% of Black people were not confident in taking part in a health and social care study. The survey also showed that public involvement in communicating research findings in an accessible way increases public confidence in taking part....That is encouraging. Read more about how the Health Research Authority are leading on diversity and inclusion in research 👇
We have published a new national survey on the public’s perception of health and social care research. It found that 88% people think a diverse mix of participants in research is important. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eKTbxWhc The survey follows yesterday’s publication of the Government’s full response to the recommendations in the Lord O’Shaughnessy review into commercial clinical trials. The review recommended research organisations make sure the participants in clinical trials are diverse.

Congratulations to Neighborhood Healthcare and Altura on publishing their white paper about increasing clinical study access for patients of color! It was an honor to work with Altura CEO Pete Fronte, MBA, and his team to help edit the paper, which summarizes a study that aimed to increase diversity in research and overall health equity. The study examines roadblocks that prevent communities of color from taking part in clinical studies and offers ways CHCs and life science companies can help increase participation. #clinicalresearch #clinicaltrials #healthequity #healthcareaccess #chcs
We are pleased to release a white paper about building clinical trial and health research access and diversity via Community Health Centers. The paper summarizes the results of a grant-funded study that surveyed 246 executives, providers, and medical staff from 41 CHCs nationally. We identified barriers preventing diverse populations from joining clinical studies and offer ways CHCs, life science companies and research organizations can help increase participation. If you would like a copy of the white paper, please email [email protected]. Thanks!
