Female athletes undergo significant musculoskeletal changes during #pregnancy and #postpartum. Postpartum care often lacks proper guidance for returning to sport and misses care of long-term health issues like pelvic/low back pain and dysfunction, and support of general physical and emotional recovery. Understanding the three phases of returning to sport helps bridge this gap, ensuring successful athletic recovery. Join Nicola Banger, PT, MScPT, OCS, SFMA, CYA, Ashley Fluger, CSCS, NSCA-CPT, Pamela Geisel, MS, MBA, CSCS, PCES, RRCA, and Anna Ribaudo, PT, DPT, OCS, Capp-OB on October 15 to learn more. Have you heard of a pessary? Many women aren't aware of the full range of solutions available to treat urinary incontinence. There are A LOT more options out there besides surgery and diapers. Pessaries are extremely effective, affordable, minimally invasive, and totally under-utilized. They provide immediate relief and can be used in conjunction with pelvic floor therapy, kegel devices, vaginal estrogen, etc. It isn't "normal" to leak during daily activities and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Yes, it's common, but it's common because we aren't adequately treating it. We need to stop normalizing female suffering. If stress incontinence is impacting your life, please watch my talk and then get help so you can address it. Did you know that headaches are among the top 5 reasons why people go to the Emergency Room for help? The most common kind of headache is referred to as a “Tension Type” headache. It normally starts at the top of your neck or base of your head and then progresses up the back of your head. This can start to happen as a result of some kind of trauma like a whiplash motor vehicle accident or from having poor posture over a period of time. We live in an age where our postures are so often in a state of postural flexion commonly referred to a “Flexion addicted Society”. #fertilityfact #3 in honor of national infertility awareness week Did you know…. Secondary infertility is a real thing. It is defined as the inability to conceive or carry a baby to term after previously giving birth. This essentially means that you had a baby without help, and then struggle to get pregnant again. Secondary infertility makes up about 50% of infertility cases and is just as common as primary infertility. Some of the causes of secondary infertility are the same as primary infertility. However, other causes could include complications related to a past pregnancy or surgery. #fertilityfact #niaw #wearorange #1in6
