Nikola Corporation, a developer of zero-emissions transportation, energy supply, and infrastructure solutions through the HYLA brand, has unveiled its second HYLA high-pressure modular refueling station and facility near the Port of Long Beach in Southern California. Nikola aims to establish a network of up to nine refueling solutions by mid-2024, with 14 operational sites expected to be completed by the end of 2024. This includes a combination of HYLA modular fuelers and partner stations such as FirstElement Fuels in the Port of Oakland. Nikola is expanding its HYLA refueling infrastructure to support increased hydrogen demand. This ongoing development highlights the company’s goal to adopt hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks and improve the decarbonization agenda in transportation. The HYLA refueling network plans to offer a diverse portfolio of refueling solutions to Nikola's hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles and other Class 8 customers, including modular and permanent HYLA stations, "behind-the-fence," and partnerships with public truck stops. Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ:BLDP; TSX:BLDP), a pioneer in the fuel cell industry, has entered into a historic Long Term Supply Agreement (LTSA) with Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o., a leading European manufacturer of buses, to supply 1,000 hydrogen fuel cell engines by 2027 for the transit bus market across Europe. We are #proud of our nominees for this year's Hydrogen UK awards. Being shortlisted for work that will enable #important developments with low carbon alternative gases like #hydrogen is critical to tackling #climatechange. Well done to George Brookfield CEng MIGEM for being nominated in the category of #FutureLeader award and to our teams who are delivering the East Midlands Hydrogen project and the #HydrogenValley project, both of these are in the running for the 2024 #InfrastructureProject award. It is work being done by individuals and through projects like this which is testament to helping the UK make tangible #progress to #netzero using #hydrogen to decarbonise #gas, in particular for hard to abate #energy use, such as in #industrial processes.

Congratulations to HTEC for their first-of-its-kind pilot program that uses hydrogen to power commercial trucking which will help accelerate B.C.’s transition to a clean economy. With $16.5 million in funding from the Province for the pilot, HTEC will procure six different heavy-duty fuel-cell trucks and complete upgrades to a hydrogen-fuelling station in Tsawwassen and a maintenance facility in Abbotsford. Delighted to share that we've been shortlisted for this year's Hydrogen UK Annual Conference Awards, in the category of Industrial Application.    This recognises our work in supplying hydrogen, engineering, operational and safety expertise to facilitate four hydrogen fuel-switching demonstrations within Phase 1 of the UK Governments Industrial Fuel Switching (IFS) Competition, as well as being the preferred supplier to further IFS Phase 2 demonstrations scheduled to be completed in 2024.   During Phase 1, all four demonstrations successfully switched away from fossil fuels to hydrogen with no reported loss in process performance combustion, conditions were stable, NOx increases were in line with predictions and no adverse effects on temperature control, process control or product quality were seen. The BOC Hydrogen supplied into these IFS Phase 1 demonstrations resulted in the world’s first fossil fuel free float glass, cement and lime production.    #hydrogen #industrial #fuel #engineering #HUKConf24
