#REPowerEU 2 years on: How has solar delivered for Europe? ☀   2 years after #REPowerEU and the #EUSolarStrategy, the EU's response to the devastating war in Ukraine and consequent energy crisis, we look back at what has been achieved.   The solar sector installed more than 💯 GW of solar power in the last 2 years. That’s the equivalent to powering around 30 million more homes across Europe with clean, reliable, affordable energy. 🏘   This is only the beginning. We can, we must, go much further and faster. ⏩   How? 🌞 The Sun4All Project was represented today in a webinar organised by SolarPower Europe on the topic of accelerating permitting, staffing, and skilling in solar cities and regions. Our project partner Rui Sebastian (Câmara Municipal de Almada) shared his experience on the challenges and opportunities for cities in implementing solar projects on their territories: 🌍⚡"Municipalities are not yet fully part of the transition; in part due to the lack of specialised staff, but also to unclearly defined licensing procedures and short investment windows at municipal level." Thanks to Sun4All, our pilot cities and region have learned a lot on how to implement solar energy projects, including how much time it takes and the actors to be involved. And they are now well placed to support their citizens, and help build the capacites of further local and regional authorities!
