Answer: Annually, around 130,000 tonnes of plastic find their way into the marine environment in Australia. Answer: Rivers carry plastic waste from deep inland to the sea, making them the main contributors to ocean pollution. It is estimated that 1,000 rivers are accountable for nearly 80% of global annual riverine plastic emissions into the ocean, which range between 0.8 and 2.7 million tonnes per year, with small urban rivers amongst the most polluting. Answer: Each year, Australia produces a grand total of 2.6 million metric tons of plastic waste, equating to about 100 kilograms per person. Source: The National Waste Report 2022. 🌲🌳 Last week, Maryland reached a major conservation milestone — after setting its “30 by 30” goal in 2023, the state announced that, as of February 2024, it had reached this goal six years ahead of schedule. This means that the state has already conserved more than 1.85 million acres out of Maryland’s 6.1 million acres of total land area.   State leaders credit partnership as key to this conservation success, including working closely with local governments, nonprofit land trusts, conservation organizations, federal agencies, and landowners. There are two ways to view streetscape trees. On the one hand, the streetscape is a public space, and the trees planted there belong to the entire community and are a valuable public resource, no different than the trees planted in a neighborhood park. In that regard, no resident has a right to damage or remove a public tree, they don’t get a veto over public green space. The other way of looking at this is that a tree planted in a sidewalk tree pit or planting strip in front of someone’s house also impacts those residents. A sound community engagement approach centers the residents of a community and cedes a degree of decision-making to the community. There are valid arguments for both approaches. In my experience, engaging with stakeholders, and getting buy in from the residents who are directly impacted by trees is a better approach. It is far better to engage with stakeholders, and perhaps plant a few less trees, and have buy-in and support from the neighborhood. The trees planted will be wanted and better cared for than those that are arbitrarily planted without community support.

Evidence of property listed as abandoned on the Ontario Abandoned Property website (OAP) and the video footage of first visitation and the starting of cleaning process. Also note trees that they claim i cut was trees that were already fallen, to which you will see in video 2. Any other trees are not trees that would consider as being malicious as these were merely bushes that got so huge we had to use chain saw to cut them, because machete were very tiring to use. Also note, the tree stumps that they claim to see under the container and at the front isn't from that property. A lady ask one of our member who does landscaping to remove a tree that she had cut in her back yard in brampton. We cut up the tree and took it to the property in questioned to store in the container to dry, so we could use it as natural resource to give and sell to people who may need firewood for barbecue next year. The videos they claimed to have seen I with a pellet rifle on the property was because we weren't certain if we would have encountered any wild animal, as i mentioned in the first video. Also note i am a license firearm holder of a PAL and thought for my own safety to take my wife pellet gun in the event i encountered a wild animal. There was knowone occupying the abandoned property and I did not take a pellet gun to the abandoned property to hurt or commit harm to a man or woman, but to protect myself and workmen should a animal attack us. Recreational immunity is a legal safeguard for landowners, encouraging them to open their lands to the public for recreational use. It protects these landowners from lawsuits if a recreational user gets injured on their property. This law is vital for public landowners, parks, and even private landowners who offer trail access or other recreational opportunities. 🌄 The Importance of Recreational Immunity Access to nature is invaluable, but outdoor activities can carry risks. Without recreational immunity, landowners face the threat of costly lawsuits, making it financially unfeasible to keep their lands open for public enjoyment. 🏞️ What's Happening in Oregon? Despite Oregon having a recreational immunity statute (ORS 105.682), recent legal developments have put this protection under scrutiny. The case Fields v. Newport challenged this immunity, leading to concerns among landowners about their liability. 🏛️ The Consequences Following these legal shifts, some local governments have begun closing trails, while others are contemplating how to manage this new level of liability. This change affects everyone who cherishes Oregon’s outdoor heritage. 🚧 The Path Forward The Oregon Trails Coalition, alongside other community partners, is advocating for a legislative solution.
