On the final day of #RTX2024, we are delighted to announce that Explore Plant and Transport Solutions has signed a Partnership Agreement with HVS for the supply of 30 HVS hydrogen fuel cell tractor units for deployment by Explore across their UK fleet. Chris G. Operations Director for Explore says, “It is our firm belief that Hydrogen-electric fuel cell vehicles are set to revolutionise long-haul trucking and meet the heavy demands of the construction logistics sector, providing a clean alternative to traditional diesel engines. These new HVS units will significantly reduce Explore’s carbon footprint, and this Agreement underscores our commitment to advancing green technology within our business. We are excited to be collaborating with HVS to achieve this transition.” John McLeister FCILT, Chief Commercial Officer for HVS, comments, “This landmark Partnership Agreement is testament to our shared vision of a sustainable future. However... headline figures are all well and good, and the UK Bus Cycle test is a great way to assess A to B comparisons across product under controlled conditions, but no bus route in the country corresponds to UKBC so OEM-quoted efficiency figures need to be taken into context. As an operator, you need to know what will my bus do on any given route, for any given ambient temperature, battery state of health and a number of other factors. Electrify America is tackling long wait times at charging stations with a new "Congestion Reduction Pilot." Starting in July at 10 California locations, EV drivers will be asked to move on once their vehicle reaches an 85% charge, freeing up spots for others.
