If you’re in legal ops, what’s the one piece of advice you’d give to someone who wants to be? For me, it’s about making the best use out of the resources you have in front of you to help grow toward the future you want to set up for yourself. Legal ops projects are born out of necessity. Every department has room for improvement in the way they work. So look for those opportunities in your own team and find ways to start small. What little efforts can you undertake on the side, or with little (wo)manpower to make things better? Small wins lead to bigger opportunities. You never know where these efforts may take you. You could end up making legal ops a huge part of your current role or building the skills to head into a legal ops role somewhere else.
