What if a spiky profile becomes a POWERHOUSE profile?? Don’t have low expectations for Dyslexia. For example, see the graph in the comments of the post below showing the power of the NOW! Programs® scientifically tested and proven Dyslexia empowerment program to turn a “spiky profile” into a powerhouse profile of many many more strengths - because the human brain’s potential rewire and empower new skills is lifong. However, powerhouse empowerment of Dyslexia only happens when the training program is “evidence-based from randomized controlled trials”, as staunchly recommended by Dr Sally Shaywitz. LOOK at the light grey bars compared to the dark blue bars and see the spiky profile in dark blue becomes a powerhouse of new strengths and more of them in light green bars. #DyslexiaScience is “life changing!” and this graph shows just how empowering it can be.

If you have heard me talk about Neurodiversity in the workplace, you might remember me explaining spiky profiles. Kate Griggs does an excellent job of sharing her experience with it here. With #DyslexicThinking, I have some great skills that benefit the organizations I serve (strategic vision, creative problem-solving, and tons of curiosity). Yet, I need help with the simpler tasks (spelling, grammar, and organizing a process). That's confusing, right? As a leader, if you aren't aware of these spiky profiles, you can easily mistake my challenges for a lack of motivation or laziness. I've done it myself. The good news is that when we know better, we do better. So make sure you include Neurodiversity training in your workplace this year. This is an insightful visual for both dyslexics and none dyslexics trying to figure us out. I've said for years how dyslexia was my kryptonite in school and then my superpower in the real world. Only, don't read my writing until the dyslexic editor gets a hold of it. AI can jump on dyslexic mistakes today. I'm looking forward to watching this course, Kate. #DyslexicThinking

(Incoming! ⏳ ) These are the skills I'm talking about: 👀 Visualizing: 75% of dyslexics are above average in this. Interacting with space, senses, physical ideas, and new concepts. 🤹♂️ Imagining: creating an original piece of work. 84% of dyslexics are above average at this. Driving innovation, new ideas and new approaches. 👥 Communicating: crafting and conveying clear and engaging messages. 71% are above average at this. 🙏 Reasoning: understanding patterns, evaluating possibilities and making decisions. 84% are above average at reasoning. 🔗 Connecting: understanding self, empathising, and influencing. 80% are above average at this. They excel at negotiating and are highly self aware.
