The aim of the More than a Village project is to develop and test different models of a smart village that will create favourable conditions for residents and local businesses, contributing to improving the competitiveness and attractiveness of rural areas in the Central European region. The project will result in increasing the potential of rural regions by utilising their local assets. This is a culmination of our work with Sapere in 2023, and a credit to the level of engagement and expertise within our network. The solutions we describe fall under a few key and interdependent themes: funding; complexity; models of care; rural general practice; workforce; integration; and primary care development and structures. Steering Group and Development Partners Meeting Highlights   The two-day Steering Group and Development Partners Meeting, held in Bangkok on December 14-15, 2023, aimed to steer the strategic direction and sustainability of the Southeast Asia Harm Reduction Association (AHRA). Deliberations centered on shaping AHRA’s future strategies, endorsing transparent delegation processes, discussing the Sustainability Return on Investment (RoI) Plan, addressing funding gaps in harm reduction, and preparing for donor engagements. The meeting successfully achieved its objectives, paving the way for AHRA to continue making a positive impact in harm reduction efforts across Southeast Asia. Notable outcomes include enhanced transparency through detailed reporting, strengthened collaboration, and engagement with development partners for AHRA’s long-term sustainability.
