This week I had the honour of working with a group of girls from Cape Town destined to change the world. The girls from Brescia House School spent the last two days writing, illustrating, and publishing their very own children's books and, goodness me, they are amazing! The cool thing is that every time somebody in the world buys a copy of their book, the profits from the sale head straight towards a charity they have chosen, and they get to see exactly how their book has changed the world for the better. In #Fundations 'Word of the Day' activity, teachers pick a Word of the Day flashcard to review word structure and vocabulary from the current unit. I want to highlight something close to my heart:  🌟 Dyslexia Awareness Week, 2-8 October🌟 Dyslexia is a learning difference that manifests differently in each person and affects how people process information. It may pose challenges in reading, writing, and spelling, but it doesn't define intelligence or potential, however, dyslexia can also bring strengths like creativity and problem-solving skills. Ten percent of the population are believed to be dyslexic, but it is still often poorly understood. With the right support, the strengths and talents of dyslexic people can really shine.
