📢 Exciting News! We are happy to announce a new collaboration with SSTAR project. Please find as follows a short SSTAR project summary: Considering the needed transition towards a low-carbon economy, SSTAR project is contributing to change the energy industry infrastructure, starting from Solid-State Transformers (SSTs). The SST is a quite recent promising innovative technology, that will be further developed within SSTAR. We aim at increasing SST’s operational voltage level to enlarge their applications, while improving the energy sector in a more sustainable way. The innovations that are being developed (biobased dielectric fluid, decentralized CHB converters and new SST modules based on Silicon Carbide) will be tested in two certified labs based in Spain and Portugal. These technologies will not only change the energy sector, but will also impact the bioeconomy sector thanks to the synergies developed amongst the electric and the biorefinery sectors. Forget about Solar Panel as hydrocarbon-based solar foils have emerged as a captivating proposition. These foils combine the principles of photovoltaic solar cells with the utilization of hydrocarbon polymers, creating a synergy that could revolutionize the energy sector. By integrating hydrocarbon materials into the solar foils, researchers aim to enhance the overall efficiency, durability, and versatility of solar energy capture. This innovation not only capitalizes on the abundance of hydrocarbons but also addresses concerns about the environmental impact of traditional photovoltaic manufacturing processes.

NovoSolTech solar thermal window technology results from experimental research and studies on using solar energy in cold-climate regions to generate heated air and electricity in peak-demand hours. We are using semi-transparent PV panels with a Packing Factor of 60% to increase heat transfer sources in winter and increase air temperature.

Low energy density and control difficulties with gas have prevented the application of hydrogen in energy production.As a solution, ARENHA proposes the storage of hydrogen in the chemical bonds of carriers such as ammonia, as it is characterised by three advantages: 🔘 High energy density. 🔘 Low cost. 🔘 Ease of liquefaction, storage and transport. To achieve this combination that will revolutionise energy production, Eindhoven University of Technology is developing a catalytic membrane reactor to break down ammonia and separate high-purity hydrogen, using a lower reaction temperature than has been used until now. 💻

🌞 Innovating solar energy with lightweight panels Since 2022, we at Greenbuddies.eu have been exploring and testing the possibility of installing PV on industrial roofs with lower load capacities. In this area, we have partnered with Sunman Energy, a manufacturer of #lightweightpanels that have a low weight and a different mounting method. The company has launched a lightweight photovoltaic panel under the name #eArc. It has taken the possibilities of installing PV to a whole new level, especially in places where it was not possible before. All this while maintaining durability, reliability, and safety. And I am thrilled about it! And the numbers? They speak for themselves. The panel is 70% lighter, up to 95% thinner, and reduces installation time by about 40% thanks to easier assembly. Thanks to their smaller size, we are also able to transport more of them at once. Wow! We have already successfully installed these panels in Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, and now also in the Czech Republic for the very first time. We are delighted to be working together on this key technology, which takes solar energy a huge step further and represents a great opportunity for us.
