🌍 ESG Initiatives on the Rise in the Middle East! 🌍 With Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives and reporting gathering pace across the region, it is widely expected that Tadawul (KSA) and the QSE (Qatar) will soon make ESG reporting a regulatory requirement for all listed entities which will then set the tone for privately held entities as well. 🌟 We've observed numerous regional listed entities proactively begin their ESG reporting, with levels of maturity improving year on year. Despite this progress, ESG remains a complex and evolving area for many. In Kenya, ESG discourse is still at its infancy stages and various stakeholders are just beginning to inculcate ESG-oriented policies within their businesses. How companies handle environmental, social and governance issues is increasingly becoming a major concern especially for investors, regulators, lenders and other key stakeholders. Now more than ever, investors include ESG criteria in their investment assessments, valuation decisions, lending, and businesses, policy makers consider organizations’ impact on people and communities.
