Wrapping up the Financial Literacy Colloquia series this term. Enjoyed presenting the findings from the Personal Finance Index (P-Fin Index) and their implications for research, teaching and policy. In my presentation, I provided an overview of how we've measured financial literacy over time. From the inception of the 'Big Three' questions to measuring finlit around the world to the seven-year study of the state of personal finance in the US, conducted with TIAA Institute, we've gathered invaluable insights – but this is just the beginning! I also discussed how I have used the P-Fin Index in the personal finance courses I taught at both the undergraduate and graduate level. We are already working on the 2024 lineup of presenters for this new Colloquia series we've just started this term at Stanford, bringing together everyone involved in programs related to financial literacy, personal finance, household finance, financial wellness, and more.
