The Minimum Viable Change Process (MVCP) is the lightest-weight process appropriate for the context of the change. This is a core learning outcome of our Lean Change Agent workshop. Your MVCP acts as a radar – enabling you to scan the environment ahead so you can navigate forward without getting bogged down in heavy processes and tools. Decide on the frequency with which you will conduct these core elements that make up a MVCP: Insights Meeting: 30-minute meeting to review in-progress experiments, discuss new insights gained since the last meeting, and possibly generate new experiments. Stand-Up: 15-minute meeting to sync up on the work and discuss where you may be stuck. Retrospective: 30 to 60-minute meeting to tune and adjust your change approach and process. Change Canvas Refresh: 30 to 60-minute meeting to refresh the change canvas with new information. Faster rotation of your change radar leads to more frequent updates of the scanned area and increases the range of the covered area. In times of high ambiguity fast rotation is crucial for tracking fast-moving objects and hidden dangers, especially when you’re moving quickly. A slower refresh rate may be appropriate for slow moving changes with a longer time horizon. Dial up the refresh rate when you need to learn more about the change, sooner, or where you have identified a high-risk gap in coverage. Dial it to the max for extremely fast-moving changes or when uncertainty is high. #change #changemanagement #projectmanagement

I like this graphic. It really simply highlights the fallacy of the heavy up front change plan.
