After an extended vacation in Europe, I'm deeply impressed by the remarkable commitment to green technology and sustainability in both Germany and Slovenia. Germany's "Energiewende" policy stands as a shining example of transitioning away from fossil fuels, with impressive wind farms in the North Sea and a robust expansion of renewable energy sources. Their efficient public transportation system, including electric trains and extensive tram networks, showcases their dedication to energy efficiency. Germany's Passive House standard ensures sustainable building designs, and the availability of ESG investment opportunities, along with exemplary recycling programs like the "Green Dot" and "Pfand" systems, reinforces their holistic approach to green living. Slovenia, though smaller in size, is a beacon of environmental consciousness. Its focus on renewable energy, particularly hydropower and geothermal sources, aligns with its stunning natural landscapes, like Lake Bled. The "Green Scheme" certification highlights eco-friendly businesses, while the Carinthian Lakes Region promotes sustainable mobility through electric boats and e-bikes. Slovenia's protected areas, such as Triglav National Park, offer responsible tourism opportunities, and their dedication to preserving native bee populations reflects their commitment to biodiversity and sustainable agriculture. Both countries showcase that sustainability and green technology can coexist harmoniously with a high quality of life and thriving tourism industries. Sjeverozapadna Hrvatska, or North-west Croatia, is the H2CE region we wish to present today. 🔍 The region of Sjeverozapadna Hrvatska offers a captivating mixture of historical and modern elements, immersed in a widely diverse natural landscape. The region stretches from the capital city of Zagreb 🏙 , whose rich history brings together a picture of contemporary life and historical architecture. Beyond the city, the scenery includes hills, vineyards, and historic towns, such as Krapina and Samobor.
