This week members of both our standard-setting boards, the #IASB and the #ISSB, have been to Mauritius for the PAN AFRICAN FEDERATION OF ACCOUNTANTS (PAFA) Annual General Meeting and Technical Forum. The theme of the conference was ‘Driving sustainable value creation in Africa’ and it was hosted by Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants (MIPA). ISSB Member Ndidi, Dr Nnoli-Edozien updated our African colleagues on recent developments in the ISSB’s work to develop a global baseline of sustainability disclosures, as well as African jurisdictions’ progress to adopt or use the ISSB’s Standards. IASB members Bertrand Perrin and Bruce Mackenzie spoke about the IFRS work plan, new Accounting Standards and the uptake of the IASB’s IFRS for SMEs Standard in Africa. Thank you to PAFA for facilitating the opportunities for valuable engagement with our African stakeholders. #IFRS #IASB #ISSB
