It's midterm time on my campus, and so there's a (cyclical) uptick in concern over students using generative AI to complete their homework. I don't think AI presents an integrity problem; it presents a teaching problem, and teaching problems have to have teaching answers. This past year, I've been developing resources to help faculty move beyond bans, detectors, and surveillance models so that they can focus on finding the teaching answers that are right for their classrooms. I don't think any resources were as fun to pull together, though, as this short playlist, which was intended to spark a conversation about why AI feels so big.
