✈ Meet the team 🤝 🗺 We are excited to introduce you the #coordinator of the IMPACT MONITOR Project! 🔶 The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is the Federal Republic of Germany’s research center for #aeronautics and #space. DLR conducts research and development activities in the fields of aeronautics, space, energy, transport, security, and digitalization.  #Aviation is facing major challenges – continuing growth combined with environmental responsibility must jointly shape further development. DLR is developing solutions for the current and next generations of aeronautics technologies and operations. In addition, with research expertise covering the entire air transport system, it is pursuing the goal of designing well-founded proposals for the generation after next and thus opening up new possibilities for air transport. 🔷 DLR coordinates the Impact Monitor project and brings competencies as well as digital technologies for the collaborative system-of-systems architecting process in order to develop the coherent, collaborative, and holistic Impact Monitor #framework. In this regard, DLR leads the framework development by deploying CPACS as a common language for aircraft design as well as expanding it for overall aviation system assessments. Furthermore, aircraft, air traffic management, and air transport system modelling as well as assessment capabilities are provided to the project and integrated in the framework. Together with the project team, the proof of concept for the framework will be provided through demonstration use cases. ✈ Meet the team 🤝 🗺 We are excited to introduce you CIRA - Italian Aerospace Research Centre! 🔶 CIRA - Italian Aerospace Research Centre is a company mainly of public ownership created in 1984 for the purpose of performing research in the fields of #space and #aeronautics. The Centre, with headquarters and operational structures in Capua, was founded by the Italian government with the aim of promoting #research and technological development in the fields of space and aeronautics, to compete at high levels on the international markets with its state-of-the-art laboratories and unique in-the-world testing facilities. It is member of #EREA, #ACARE working groups, #GARTEUR, #ESRE, #IFAR and participates in many other initiatives together with relevant stakeholders in aerospace, closely cooperating with industries, European and national civil #aviation authorities and SMEs. CIRA collaborated in CS1 and CS2 Technology Evaluator projects, performing validation and comparison tasks, methodology definition and sensitivity analysis. CIRA was also involved in: SATRoadmap, PPLANE, COAST (COst effective Avionic SysTems), TWING, ANGELA. Moreover, CIRA collaborated in the coordinated support actions: CAPPADOCIA, RADIAN, OPTICS and OPTICS2 devoted to assessing the contribution to innovations related to European R&I projects vs ACARE Goals. CIRA has recently been involved in CS2- TE ATS level assessment for Rotorcraft and Business Jet. 🔷 In Impact Monitor, CIRA leads WP2. This work package defines and applies a methodology to identify, collect and structure the set of research results in terms of impact relevance, timeframe, scientific field, proposed innovation and other driven aspects from R&I initiatives within the context of HE/Collaborative Research, CA, SESAR, Clean H2/EU Battery research and other running initiatives to be assessed according to the European aviation topic “HORIZON-CL5-2022-D5-01-14”. Furthermore, WP2 identifies relevant stakeholders, collects and defines their needs in terms of: environmental footprint, economic- and societal-impact and related KPIs, interacting with relevant communities in aviation R&I: Horizon Europe, Clean Aviation, SESAR3, Clean Hydrogen partnerships implementing a top down (driven by EC, ACARE, CA, …) as well as a bottom up (driven by the project consortium) approach. The output will be a data set to support the IM toolset in its assessments. ✈ Meet the team 🤝 🗺 We are excited to introduce you University of Stuttgart! 🔶 The University of Stuttgart – Institute of Aircraft Design (IFB) is part of Germany’s largest faculty of #Aerospace #Engineering. It has more than 100 years of experience in #aircraft design, #flight testing, composite #materials, and design and testing of aerospace, automotive and wind-energy structures. 🛩 In cooperation with a large number of industrial partners, the IFB of USTUTT participates in different projects funded by the EU (#H2020, #HorizonEurope, #CleanSky, #CleanAviation) and national ministries related to aircraft design, development and manufacturing. IFB is one of the distinguished facilities in the field of manned electric aircraft projects. Two of these research projects for manned aircraft with electric propulsion serve as technology test platforms: the single-seat solar powered aircraft "icaré 2" and the initially battery electric "e-Genius", today powered hybrid-electrically. Both aircraft are currently in use for research projects. Corresponding aircraft design research activities focus on suitable energy systems and enhanced design methodologies. New propulsion concepts like wing tip propellers or distributed propulsion are explored and demonstrated in scaled flight demonstration, connecting analytical research and technology demonstration. Proud to share my latest publication in the Journal of Control and Decision, jointly with Prof. Dr. Marcos Santos e Carlos Francisco Simões Gomes. https://lnkd.in/dtuKg3qn This article is one of the products from my master's research (which continues during my PHD) and adds value not only for the aviation and energy industries but also for all others because of the possibility of replicating the methodologies and methods presented in other contexts, with different databases. Despite its contribution, as mentioned above, this research has some limitations and future studies can be considered: the particularities of other countries, the technical specifications of other platforms and other aircraft available on the market.
