Last week, our Research and Talent Intelligence team conducted a poll to understand the trends that professionals believe will define the talent landscape of the Philippines in 2024. Results indicate that capability development emerged as the top trend, with AI as a tool for recruitment coming in second. Capability development is poised to play a big role in talent management and acquisition, as recruiters look to fill vacancies with the best possible fit, and candidates look to upskill and make themselves more competitive in the job market. Boosted by the government’s recent passing of a law that seeks to incentivize and provide support for learning and development, building skills and capabilities is even more likely to influence the talent landscape in the year to come. As for artificial intelligence, conversations surrounding it will only grow stronger heading into the new year. The emergence of AI-driven tools, predictive models, chatbots, and databases will all have a say in redefining how talent will be sourced and managed. It is important that organizations remain responsible with the use of this technology, as it cannot replace human qualities such as critical thinking, creativity, and empathy.
