Now there is not really for most biologists – if they are not diving right down into the nanoscale – there really isn’t any difference to them in terms of its utility of this versus this because this is nearly SIM already! It’s pretty fucking good! And its faster because now they have a sensitive detector with multiple elements they are not filtering through a tiny pinhole anymore so it’s got improved resolution improved sensitivity improved speed, reduced invasiveness, the detectors can run from the UV to the IR, it can do optical sectioning that this cant do and this cant do and this has trouble doing if there is any aberrations. It also can be applied to FRET, FRAP, FLIM, FCS, two photon - all these modalities are on one scope. So if you are a biologist saying do I want to get this Lattice Lightsheet? Do I want to get this STED? Do I want to get this Ariyscan? It’s a pretty fucking easy decision 9 times out of 10, okay? So we don’t move the needle, okay?"
