Retailers Association of India (RAI) and Inclusional present a #Diversity #Inclusion #Belonging workshop

This week, we had the incredible opportunity to conduct a series of workshops at the picturesque Japalouppe Equestrian Centre 🐎 💕 It was an experience that encapsulated everything we stand for. The lovely folks at Japalouppe shared our values making this day-long interaction even more special - our focus extended beyond #poshcompliance and was all about fostering a mindset that kept the 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞. Some of the highlights of the work we did together: 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 & 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩: We covered the nuances of the #POSHact, discussed context-specific scenarios and explored ways to build a safety-centric culture - equipping the IC and leadership to become custodians and champions of culture. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: We conducted sessions for all their people 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢/𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡, covering their rights, responsibilities and policy processes - not just for #redressal but also #prevention and #prohibition of sexual harassment.  It struck a chord because our trainings are 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 but invites everyone to work together towards safety 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 from a place of 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭. The #POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) policy was initially designed with women in mind. However, as the world embraces the understanding that gender is not binary but exists on a spectrum – and recognises upto 107 gender identities – companies that cling to women-only POSH policies are missing the bigger picture. The #POSHAct empowers companies to create their own safety policies and service rules, adhering to the Act’s principles. There’s no reason these policies can’t be gender-neutral – and indeed, that’s the direction most forward-thinking organisations are taking. National Commission for Women - India's POSH awareness workshop: a successful #Goa chapter A big thank you and heartfelt gratitude to Jayant Arya, ICLS, RoC, Goa and our supporting partner, Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) especially Pallavi Arondekar mam, who went all out on this social cause 💡 The workshop highlighted the necessity for workplace safety measures for all genders and noted the impact of social changes such as the MeToo movement and COVID-19 on workplace environments. 💡💡 Speakers stressed that companies should view safety as an investment rather than a compliance cost, integrating it into core business practices to ensure organisational health and success. 💡💡💡 Effective compliance with the POSH Act was emphasised, with guidance provided on setting up internal committees and adhering to legal requirements to foster a culture of safety and inclusivity.
