Slovak news television TA3 has successfully resolved the issue with legislative requirements for an increased share of content accessible to hearing-impaired viewers through hidden subtitles. This was achieved with the help of the specially developed Traco AI application👍into which a module for live hidden subtitles was implemented. From now on, TA3 television can offer hidden subtitles available via DVB-T, satellite, and cable operators. The solution is tailor-made for TA3, including the encoding of the subtitle transport stream and testing. TA3 plans to use Traco AI for hidden subtitles also for the archive available on its web portal. It also plans to use Traco AI in the production of news content in Avid MediaCentral Cloud UX, similarly to how TV Prima and CNN Prima News daily use the Traco AI application for face recognition, speech to text, translations, and object and scene detection. For several years now, we have been collaborating with the news television TA3, into whose workflow we integrate innovative technologies and provide service and support👍One of our latest projects was the automation of hidden subtitles into live broadcasting. Due to tightening legislation that requires television companies, including Televízia TA3 to increase the share of hidden subtitles or alternatively make content accessible to the hearing impaired through sign language interpretation, an urgent problem arose for TA3. We solved this using the Traco AI application, which we developed and into which we integrated a module for live subtitling. The delay of hidden subtitles averages 4-5 seconds depending on the length of sentences, the Traco AI application works with a delay of about 2 seconds, the remaining delay arises from generating the transport stream and adding it to the broadcast multiplex, which we will try to minimize to a physical minimum in the future. From now on, TA3 television can offer hidden subtitles available via DVB-T, satellite, and cable operators. 👉TA3 plans to use the Traco AI application for hidden subtitles not only in broadcasting but also for the archive available on its web portal. In addition, TA3 intends to integrate Traco AI into the production of news content through the Avid MediaCentral Cloud UX platform. Similarly, as TV Prima and CNN Prima News use the Traco AI application daily for face recognition, speech to text, translations, and object and scene detection.
