Congratulations to the students who participated in this year's Little 500 races. Thank you to all who made the greatest college weekend possible! What is your favorite Little 500 memory?

Kappa Alpha Theta 9 time winner of women’s Little 500. I am old enough to witness the lobbying it took to have a women’s race. The legacy of creating the interest and acceptance of the women’s Little 500 is awe inspiring and I have to give a lot of credit to the women who fought for this opportunity including the KAØ team in the first women’s team race in 1988. Lee Ann Guzek, Martha Hinkamp, Darcy Fieck, Kathy Cleary and Stephanie Hettinger pioneered and started a women’s race in the Little 500. The team spent the year advertising the race with the Indiana University Student Federation, the student committee that organizes the Little 500.

Being part of the 1992 Women's winning team The Landsharks was an amazing memory and feat but what I treasure even more is the two years before that when we got 10th and then 3rd. We rode year-round, learned how to defend ourselves against cars, dogs and men with guns on country roads, figured out how to ask people for money (sponsors), trained over every holiday and break, flew off the rollers a few times, (if you know, you know!), picked up a lot of road rash and knee cinders and made a few trips to the ED while learning who we were and how hard we really could push ourselves. And we saw the result of what dedication and hard work gets you- I wouldn't trade a minute of it.

It’s really great to read each and everyone of these comments. Just excited that the Indiana University Student Foundation can be part of so many wonderful memories.

Winning the women’s 1997 race on the Roadrunners team! We trained with the Cutters that spring break and they won too. 🌟💪
