As many schools are wrapping up for the year and preparing for summer vacation it is extremely important that drivers are reminded that school zones remain intact during summer vacation. Many school activities where children are present take place on school grounds throughout the entire calendar year. This is why remote management of the timing of school crossing systems is so important. #PedestrianSafety #schoolzonewarningsystem #summervacation #elteccorp

🚸 Back-to-School Safety Alert! 🚸 As summer winds down and a new school year begins, it's crucial to focus on transportation safety for our residents and their children. Whether students are walking, biking, or riding the bus, their safety during daily commutes is our top priority. Here are some essential tips to share with your tenants to keep everyone safe: 🚌 Bus Safety: ✔ Wait Safely: Stand at least three giant steps away from the curb while waiting for the bus. ✔Stay Seated: Keep seated while the bus is in motion and keep aisles clear. ✔Cross Safely: Wait until the bus stops completely, then look left, right, and left again before crossing. 🚶♂️ Walking Safety: ✔Use Sidewalks: Always use sidewalks when available. If none, walk facing traffic and as far away from the road as possible. ✔Look Before Crossing: Stop at the curb, look left, right, and left again before crossing, and cross only when it's safe. ✔Avoid Distractions: Put away phones and earbuds while walking to stay alert. 🚴♀️ Biking Safety: ✔Wear a Helmet: Always wear a properly fitted helmet every time you ride. ✔Follow Traffic Rules: Ride in the same direction as traffic, obey all signs, and use hand signals to indicate turns. ✔Be Visible: Wear bright or reflective clothing to stay visible to drivers. 💡 Did You Know? According to the National Safety Council, school buses are the safest mode of transportation for students. Kids are 70 times more likely to get to school safely on a bus than in a passenger vehicle! At High Mountain Safety, we're here to help audit your fleet training and enhance the safety culture at your business. Let's work together to create safer communities and ensure a smooth, safe school year for everyone. 🛡️ #BackToSchool #TransportationSafety #BusSafety #HighMountainSafety #SchoolSafety #FleetSafety #SafetyCulture #SafetyFirst

These videos are designed for sharing! Our National Road Safety strategy references the 'social model' to influence road safety. This model helps us understand how we shift knowledge and commitment from our professional communities, into communities we live in. Each of us is a conduit for sharing this knowledge. Sidelines Traffic have developed a series of videos to share in communities. They were developed to address issues identified by school principals and user groups. They're developed by an engineer and they're targeted at drivers. They emerged from frustration. There's not enough money to solve all the problems. This is something more we can do. Many of us are champions for road safety in our professions. During #NationalRoadSafetyWeek we should share knowledge in our communities. What can you do? Pick a video that's relevant to you. Share it with your school communities or other community. See link below for more videos about keeping people walking and riding safe by: - giving way at side roads, - crossings, - driveways and carparks, - to bicycle riders - at slip lanes. https://lnkd.in/g487rjgN Kathy Doukouris Tanya Moran Adriana Dil Gowthaman David Hayward David Freer Land Use and Mobility Tendekayi Marapara, RSP1 Kenn Beer Bridget Doran Michael Langdon Jon Dare-Williams Dylan Bedward Kirstin Knight Penelope Bennett Dianne Hayes Alice Woodruff James Laing Robyn Davies Michael Gillies Mark McDonald Jerryn Zwart Eleanor Nightingale Victoria Walks Bicycle Queensland Queensland Walks Incorporated Safe Streets to School #socialmodel #safesystems #roadsafety
