Closing the AI skills gap is top of mind for me and many leaders in infosec, but how do we do that responsibly? At Walmart, we encourage safe experimentation all in service of people, and we even built our own GenAI-powered assistant so associates can continue to develop their AI muscles. Curious to hear other ways folks in my network are approaching responsible AI experimentation? #GenAI #AI #Infosec https://bit.ly/4efKCKn

AI won’t steal as many jobs as expected! Although still partial, we find that this survey makes much more sense. Instead of just asking if AI can do a specific task (the 'task-based approach' that most of the other surveys used), this survey also checks how feasible it is for AI to perform certain roles — and how likely businesses are to actually replace workers with AI technology. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dXDHGvNk *********** 💡 Follow MPL Innovation ➡️ https://lnkd.in/g_WiMPkC 🚀Subscribe to our monthly newsletter ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dUy-VHWG #innovation #consultancy #thinkoutsidethebox #ai #jobmarket

Office of Science and Technology Policy and other consulting agencies have 45 days to plan a “national surge in AI talent in the federal government,” per Biden’s AI EO. Said Prabhakar: “We are looking for great people who want to serve their country and do big things. All kinds of AI expertise. That can be deep machine learning expertise about driving research, but also people who know how to think about how [AI is] going to affect people’s lives and maybe be part of how we can regulate and manage it.” #ai #chatgpt #bardai #artificialintelligence #technologyleadership #infrastructureascode #softwareengineering #hardwareengineering

Employee Benefits • HR • Payroll Technology Consulting. AI super user. Leading an amazing team of client-focused strategic thinkers.
A new study is flipping the script on AI and job automation. Forget the doomsday predictions - it turns out AI might not be the job-snatcher we feared! Massachusetts Institute of Technology researchers are bringing some fresh perspective. They've crunched the numbers and found that, economically speaking, AI isn't quite ready to replace us humans in many tasks. Their focus? Jobs involving visual analysis. Think inspecting products on a manufacturing line - not quite the AI takeover scenario we imagined. Even with the sophisticated AI tech we have today, the MIT team found that the majority of these tasks don't make financial sense to automate. In other words, AI might be smart, but it's not yet smart enough to justify its cost in many roles. #AI #FutureOfWork #HumanVsMachine https://lnkd.in/gWHx2JkY

I had the pleasure to be interviewed to CTech by Calcalist about the impact of generative AI on work and on the workforce. This topic has gained more attention following the release of The White House Economic Report of the President in March 2024, where Chapter 7 reviews the comprehensive impact AI has and might have on the workforce. While change is inevitable, the potential for AI to augment us is higher than the risk of replacing us. This is why human agency and curiosity are crucial. It's becoming increasingly important to improve our AI literacy, which is now a critical competency/skill. What are your tips to improve your AI literacy?

A recent study from MIT finds that #AI is currently too expensive to replace humans in most jobs. Researchers found that "at today’s costs, US businesses would choose not to automate most vision tasks that have ‘AI Exposure,’ and that only 23% of worker wages being paid for vision tasks would be attractive to automate.” #futureofwork

The fear of change is a brake that prevents us from moving forward, but standing still is not a viable option. Many people need training, but few are actually getting it. The solution has to be bilateral: organizations need to start taking the necessary steps to address the skills gaps, and individuals need to open their minds and be willing to embrace change.
