🎉 Happy New Year from everyone at SmplCo! At this time of new beginnings, we wanted to recognise the contribution of Idunn, our valued team member and 1,000-year-old Norse Goddess. In case you haven't met already, Idunn* [pictured below, always on-brand] joined Smpl in 2023 in a highly-publicised deal that allows her to fulfil roles as strategic advisor and mascot at Smpl, alongside being Norse Goddess of Spring, New Life and Eternal Youth. As we go into our second year, it's important to acknowledge all she brought to our first 12-months: 🌱 Idunn's 'New Life' remit has really helped us grow into our mission of creating amazing, innovative digital platforms, products and services. (One lovely client recently posted that our collab was 'exceptional' and 'inspiring'. 🤗 ) 🧒 Her experience in the field of Eternal Youth has offered important insight into how we design sustainable products and services that grow and evolve with the market (investors got that too... we helped innovators raise €3m last year) 🌍 Culturally, she's nailed it as well. We have offices in the US, UK and Hungary, but our HQ is in Norway, a place famous for its world-leading innovation, design skills, friendliness, and love of sustainability. It's hardly surprising that Idunn could help us embody all this, having lived and worked in Scandinavia for well over 1,000 years. So, huge congratulations to Idunn. A little late to update but Omegle is no more! After 14 years of connecting millions worldwide, Omegle officially shut its virtual doors on 8th November 2023. With a staggering 3.35 million daily active users and 94 million monthly visitors, Omegle was more than just a chat platform; it was a global phenomenon with highly diverse traffic, especially in the 25-34 age group. It was super popular in the US, India, and the UK. It wasn't all smooth sailing that’s why the shutdown. In 2021, a startling report by Thorn, an anti-CSAM nonprofit, revealed that 1 in 5 minor users had an online sexual interaction with an adult - a chilling statistic that raised red flags. Cumulating these concerns, alongside increasing legal and regulatory pressures, and the misuse of the platform for criminal activities, Omegle decided to call it quits. #StoCoMo community by #MotilalOswal is now a family of 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣! 🥳🥳 This takes me back to my first day - 1st Aug 2022 at MOFSL. While my first interaction was a subtle KPI - “Now you have to build our #community”, it was only after many discussions, brainstorming sessions, developments, user research calls, and #surveys that we launched it on 1st April 2023. During the last year, we did many changes in the community structure, did a lot of A B testing with different activities & believe me when I say managing a community of investors & traders is not easy and the biggest variable was the stock market volatility 🤣🤣 We are finally a family of 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ K with 3️⃣0️⃣ K monthly active users with over 500+ sessions & 3️⃣0️⃣ K+ attendees. None of this would be possible without our leaders Motilal sir, Ajay sir & Apurva who supported us with a clear vision, patience (especially during the early growth stage), guidance & a good budget 🤣🤣. If even one of them were missing, it would have become really tough for a community manager to strategize and execute the plans or bring the most important thing on the table ROI. Special shout out to my partners in crime with whom this journey started #Parth, my reporting manager & Avinash. Having a good team is important, especially a manager who not only cares about work but plans for your growth professionally & personally, takes care & ensures you get good pay 😜 & even I know this, managing myself is not an easy job so hats off Parth. I know I have troubled a lot of teams along the way Research Team, Marketing Team, Digital Acquisition Department, Training Team, Online Business team & I will be continuing the same in future so thanks in advance.
