✨ Key Takeaways from Aikya Connect Annual Forum 2024 We are thrilled to share some insightful takeaways from an interactive game about Family Dynamics that Aikya Connect members participated in courtesy of BAF Consultants at this year's AIkya Connect Annual Forum. 🥊 Conflict Resolution: ·  Neutrality is Challenging: Achieving true neutrality and dispassionate interaction is no easy feat. ·  Understanding the Room: It's crucial to gauge the mental states of everyone present, acknowledge the 'elephants in the room', and consider the influence of those not present. ·  Our natural inclination is to jump in to give answers: The key is to let the individuals arrive at the answers, and the facilitator's job is to ask questions and direct conversations. Facilitator’s cognitive systems tend to interfere with this, and achieving dispassionate status is hard ·  Breaking Cycles: Family systems often perpetuate similar behaviours, making breaking out of these cycles tough. ·  Clear Outcomes: Identifying clear outcomes at the beginning of problem-solving helps focus efforts effectively. 👨⚖️ Constitution Implementation: ·  Challenging Assumptions: Governance exercises must begin by questioning established communication patterns and assumptions among family members to reveal genuine feelings and needs. ·  Meeting Needs: Often, it's possible to meet the needs of most family members—it's not about compromising from the start! ·  Internal Family Champions: These champions are essential for upholding the Constitution and recognizing that governance is an ongoing journey.
